Holidays and festive periods like this is a very happy time, a time I like seeing because it always leave good memories afterwards, where everybody come together to rejoice both far and near, the joy of the festive season is great, everyone is in a happy mood and everyone is just like the happy time shouldn't end.
I remember when we were much younger, festive periods like this use to be very interesting, it's a time you wish it doesn't have an end, during Christmas time like this, my parent would have use broom to measure my leg so as to get a Christmas and new year shoe for me, African parents are amazing trust me. There was a time my parent got me a shoe lols I can't forget that year, I was dancing like she got me a car, that's how much I love the shoe, sometimes our parents knows the best thing for us, I wish I still have that picture I would have share it but I've lost it long ago.

The price of goods are always being increased when it's festive season like this, I don't know why it's always like that, during both Muslim and Christian holidays, not just for one... it's gradually turning to a normal thing which shouldn't be, don't know why that tradition keeps repeating itself and when it started but we just see it repeating itself.
This days the price of goods get increased almost every day, for instance a bag of rice was around twenty thousand to thirty thousand naira early this year but now it's sold around fifty thousand naira if not more.
The price of goods is abnormally high this year already before the festive season due to the increase in the price of fuel, it made everything skyrocket, it's affecting almost everyone maybe the ones that are embezzling the Nigerian currency left, right and center might not be feeling the hardship the average citizens are facing, the economic situation is something else already, so it's just like the hike in price is not really known this time around, it's been like that already before now, gradually we're getting use to it, it's funny how we Nigerians adapt to every situations easily.
The price of dollars also determine the price of goods, it's really annoying sometimes though how prices of goods get increased when the exchange rate of dollar to naira is high but when the exchange rate is low, vendors won't reduce the price of their goods and products.
This December I did a small party, it made me realise how high the price of goods went up, it's not easy doing ceremony this time of the year when everything is on the increase already. Lets say I spent almost double of what I should spend on a normal day, such is life though.
People also travel when it's festive seasons to where their families are, their hometown etc, I see that as something that's good and appropriate, I would also like to celebrate such amazing moments with my family, traveling down to where they are, because I think those times are best spent with our loved ones, most times it's just once in a year, so with family members it's just the best thing, like heaven on earth.
