It amazes me how I am still in this space called crypto space because what it has done to me is enough to make me lose interest and keep my ears locked and closed up just at the mention of it.
Well,
RIP to all the funds we lost chasing more funds
INTRODUCED TO CRYPTO SPACE
My crypto journey started on May 2018, this was when I was in 200level in the University; It happened that I came home to take a break from my academic activities and I went to visit my childhood friend. We talked at length as it has been long since we last met and along the line, I asked him what he was doing currently that earns him money for upkeep as he was yet to enter the University. He explained crypto to me for the first time then; I was interested in this particular thing he said and of course, the driving force was because of the returns it brings, money. Hahahaha.
When I was going back to school same week, I was in the bus park when some vendors were advertising a magazine about crypto, this time around, it was basically Bitcoin then, I checked myself and saw a 200Naira note which was what the magazine was sold at, I bought it and read it. I continued reading about crypto space at every moment I saw anything related to it but I did not have any money to invest in it because what I know then was only about buying the coins and trading them which required capital.
MY ACTUAL ENTRY AND EXPERIENCES
Fast forward to 2020 when the COVID-19 break stroked Nigeria and we went in total lockdown; this time around, I still went to my friend and we all kept discussing about it. He encouraged me to start up the coin vendor; we partnered and then I started this; we advertised in our WhatsApp status and many platforms we were in. Whenever someone declares interest that he or she needs a coin, we send out our account number and you send the money equivalent and the charges involved, we quickly deposit the money as USDT immediately and then buy the coin, send to you within minutes and then take the charge as our profit. Also when someone wants to sell his coin, we tell the person the rate we are buying at and add our profit too, if the person agrees to the price, we tell him to send the coin across, then we quickly sell it at market price, converts it to our currency and then send him the agreed amount. This we continued because many people did not know how to do the exchange or perhaps, they knew but then they did not want to do it themselves as they think something will happen along the line and they will lose their money.
The lockdown was eased and then school activities started, my faculty came with their stress and exams,; since I did not read all through the lockdown, I knew I had a lot of readings to do and this made me lose most of my customers as I was always either in the practical room or classroom or exam hall.
Seeing that I can no longer continue with the selling and buying of coins, I ventured into crypto trading, scalping for profits whenever I see a favorable hope in the charts, sometimes, it goes as I predicted, other times, it goes south and I lose, it was just an endless cycle of lose and gain without an actual growth.
Early 2021, I was introduced by a friend to Shitcoins. This was where the tears started and was endless, haha. I knew how volatile these projects were but then I never expected it was going to be this bad. I bought a whole lot of coins under this category; even the ones that are without any value as at today. I cannot forget in a hurry about one of them called SAFEMOON that I bought with 30000 Naira and before that week ran out,the price already declined to 800Naira, I was very shocked and lacked words to describe those moments. Well, I keep hoping the project boost someday, hahaha.
Not long enough after the Shitcoin saga, futures trading came in view. I refused to give it a try after my friend explained to me.
January 2022, I decided to give it a try so that I will know I already tried my best to get out of trenches; my friend gave me the signal himself and both of us entered the trade and boom, it went south and the money was lost again, hahaha.
We went ahead to buy signals and we also traded the signal we bought and entered the trade but we never knew what awaits us, the next day, the Russia-Ukraine war started and we all know how bearish the market was then and again, it was lost, I WAS LIQUIDATED AGAIN, tears in my eyes....
It has been really downhill for a long time with small spice of uphill.
Then came March 2022, my brother then introduced me properly to hive and so far so good, I have really been enjoying this space a lot. I have been going around; making mistakes, learning and unlearning and getting better here.
HOW FAR I AM WILLING TO TAKE IT

Now that I have really found a crypto space that I love, I am willing to take it to any length to see that the success story people also tell about the goodness of crypto gets to my doorstep. I am also currently taking a lesson about crypto analysis to better my skill because I know some of the losses I incurred might have been avoidable only if I had a better knowledge on it.
We keep getting better everyday as experiences of failure makes the success stories sweeter.
Thank you for this wonderful topic although it brought up some buried funny and sad experience. This is my entry into the contest in #hivelearners for the question
by being Hivers, we all have to get involved with cryptocurrencies at one time or the other. Tell us how it has been for you so far? And also how far you are willing to take it.
