Have you been in a situation where you're so happy that someone called you your name?
Or
When you are hearing your name but you failed to even answer because you don't remember it's your name?
Well, that's the condition I find myself in most times, lol.
What can you do if you were in my shoes were your mum even calls you a nickname rather than the name they gave you, lol.
I don't have nickname but I have nicknames.
As a kid, I suffered from various illnesses to the extent that my survival was in doubt, when I finally survived, my mum gave me a nickname that I grew up with and many of our neighbors till date calls me by that name.
For her, it's a sign of victory and reminds her of the sufferings she passed through just to make sure I was alive.
Don't bother knowing the name, hehehe.
When I got to secondary school, I am a movie freak just like you must have known.
At a time when The Legend Of The Seeker came out, a very interesting adventure action movie, I watched and finished it before returning to school.
While discussing with my friends, I found out most of them have started the movie but are yet to finish it, then the narration task fell on my shoulders to explain to them what later happened in the movie, lol.
That was how I explained the whole movie and they ended up calling me T.ZED which actually was a derivative from a character I so much love, "The Zeddicus Zul The Zoranda, a wizard of the first order."
Unfortunately, this nickname gradually died off as I found a new one which replaced it but few of my classmates in secondary school still calls me by that name till today.
When I was in year one in the University, I came across a Korean Movie named Bad Guys 1, along the discussion in the movie, they said, Sergio Spero.
I was quickly drawn to check what exactly was the meaning of the word they said and found out it had a very beautiful meaning.... As Long As I Live, There Is Hope from Italian etymology.

I quickly fell in love with the name and started writing it everywhere in everything I own.
That was how it successfully erased the previous nickname, T. Zed and many persons today call me by the nickname, SERGIO SPERO.
This is a name I really enjoy calling as it draws me to the reality of always hoping for the best irrespective of the difficulties I might be facing with a particular task I have at hand.
When I wanted to create my hive account, I tried my very best to use the nickname in creating it but it dawned on me I wasn't the only one who is in love with the name as all combination I tried didn't work and I had to remove the "Sergio" and go with "Spero" alone as going for "SergioSperoSamuel" is actually not so cool to me.
I went however for "Sperosamuel" and yet someone was still there to take the name but I was determined never to give up and then "added 15 as a suffix to it, the Sperosamuel15 which is what you see today as my username."
Mind you, "SPERO" alone is also a wonderful name as it means, "HOPE."
Hence, currently I have two active nicknames, Sergio Spero and the one reserved for my mum alone 😊
Sometimes, I feel like nicknames actually overshadows my actual identity, but then, nicknames are really good especially when they connotes to positive meanings.
What about you, do you have a nickname or did you have a nickname?
