For every student, the major factor that causes stress is School. Waking up early every weekday to go to class and coming back every evening to think about assignments and lecturers for the next day can be very stressful.
Students like me, who mostly trek in and out of school, face another source of stress. It is not easy to trek every day, as it consumes one's energy, but at the same time, it helps save money.
Before the break from school, my major cause of stress was school. My department has been after my life, having us build projects and defend them weekly. Every week, I always think about what I will talk about in my project defence. What slides would I present, and what information would I put in them?
I am grateful that I have knowledge of the use of Canva; if not, it would have been extra difficult as I was the one making the slides when we were still running about with the project defence.
Even with this holiday, we have been assigned a project supervisor and an important meeting with everyone who he is supervising by 11 a.m. today. Earlier last week, we were told to use the break we had to learn how to write a report very well and also find a project topic to present to our supervisor. And when he approves it, we would have to continue our research on the project by making up our first two chapters before moving further into searching for how to build the project.
With the break, there is still a lot to be done. They don't want to let us live and, at the same time, let us die in peace.
I would have loved to have had a full break so that I would not even have to worry about a little thing concerning school. I guess that the only way I can have that is to completely be done with school.
Since I am not done with school and am about a year away from finishing, I have no choice but to manage whatever stress comes my way, and one of the most effective ways of doing this is by:
- Making sure I do what is needed at the right time: The reason we feel stressed about an activity is when we procrastinate doing it and the workload piles up. It becomes very stressful, and ensuring every activity is done when it is needed would definitely reduce the effect of the stress.
- Placing Priority on Tasks: When there is a lot of workload, we get confused about which to start attending to. We might choose to multitask and try to do more than one activity at the same time. Multitasking is not easy and certainly not efficient because I would not have my 100% in it and certainly would require a lot of brain power, bringing about Higher stress levels.
So it is better to place priority on Tasks and do those tasks based on their importance and deadlines. I think that way, it would be faster to complete tasks in a more quick and efficient way.
I really don't know what more to do, but I believe these two methods would go a long way to maintaining my stress levels, not just in school activities but in other activities I am into like Hive, online courses, and so on. If you have more in mind to share with me, I would really appreciate it.
