I remember, I was facing a lot of backlashes too in my childhood due to my overweight body. Kids from.all age group use to pinch me and ran away. It was physical torture that faced for a longer period in my childhood. Untill I stand against the torture. The scenarios have changed and bullying are done through online. But there is a always a point of discussion, about the level of harm it will bring to the person. Both physical and online bullying are deeply harmful, often causing long term emotional, mental, and physical health issues. Physical bullying presents an immediate threat to physical safety, while online bullying is uniquely damaging because it is 24/7, allows for anonymity, and can reach a massive audience, often providing no safe space for the victim. There are many online social media account that were deactivated just because the.user unable to bear the burnt of the online bullying.
Bullying isn’t a rite of passage. It’s trauma that follows you home.
Bullying, both physical and online, is a deliberate, repetitive action aimed at establishing power, dominance, or control over another person, often stemming from the bully's own insecurities, jealousy, or desire for social status. Perpetrators often act out of peer pressure, a need for control, or to feel popular, with cyberbullying amplified by anonymity and the ability to cause distress from a distance. Physical bullying typically requires the bully to have a direct advantage in physical size, strength, or social, popular power. Whereas, online bullying is motivated by the ability to remain anonymous, the ability to act without seeing the victim's reaction, and the belief that it is "funny" or a game.
Either physical or online each of them have their level of effects in the victims mind.
Online bullying can be worse because, it can be relentless, with content going viral instantly, creating permanent damage to reputation. Victims feel inescapable persecution, often leading to severe anxiety and suicidal ideation. The anonymity of the perpetrator can make it more ruthless.
Physical bullying can be worse, as it causes immediate bodily harm and fear, causing intense, direct trauma. The immediate threat to life and safety can create profound, instant terror.
People are often targeted for being "different," such as differences in appearance, race, religion, or social status. Ultimately, both are incredibly damaging, and the "worst" one depends on the nature and extent of the abuse experienced by the individual. Both can lead to long-lasting mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
In good faith - Peace!!
