Breaking a habit requires conscious, persistent effort. It is not easy for any human being to get over certain habits that may cause harm to them. Be it smoking cigarettes to drinking alcohol, to any other fantasies that an individual get habituated. Bad habits are often tied to immediate, pleasurable rewards, releasing dopamine that reinforces the behavior and a person find it hard to get over. But there is always way out and a person needs to figure them out of themselves. At least I can say about this in my case.

I remember, eating unhealthy foods quite a lot. Half a kilo per week is enough to disrupt my internal bowel movement. But the situation and the satisfaction of its made me to crave for it regularly. Even somewhere back in my mind, I was aware of its drawback but I find it hard to get over it. It was like an addiction. But ultimately it boils down to self realization and will power to avoid bad things in life. It took me well over 3 months to get rid of it. There could be many people like me. People often choose actions that provide instant pleasure (e.g., unhealthy food, gambling, substances) over long term benefits. People often incorporate negative elements into their lives through a complex combination of psychological, social, and environmental factors. Also, When actions conflict with beliefs
For e.g.
"I know smoking is bad, but I do it",
people often change their beliefs to match their behavior
It helps me relax," or "I only do it when I'm stressed"
There is always an excuse to make bad things an integral part of the life. But getting over also require some excuse. When the we focus on the positive aspect and avoid the negative elements to get over us we can easily fight back in life.
Bad habits are chains too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry.
Breaking a bad habit involves identifying the, triggers, that is disrupting the, routine, and replacing it with a rewarding, healthier behavior. In my case, i was addicted of munching some snacks ever hours. The ingredients was not good enough for higher intake. When I started realizing that I am getting addicted instated find its alternative. Eating office food was not enough for my hunger which made me to opt for the savory snacks. But once I realized instated looking for its alternative. I found some option like roasted grams and peanuts. Gradually i started getting over of the consumption. By substituting the unhealthy habit with a better one that offers a similar, reward i made it possible to get rid of it.
Analyzing what triggers our habit (stress, boredom, location, time) and the reward we get from it. Replacing the behavior with a healthier one that provides a similar reward is more effective than just trying to stop. Make sure to stick to it for few days and get the reward for a better tomorrow.
In good faith - Peace!!
