Sometime last year, I watched a series titled GAME OF THRONES.
In this series there's a character who goes by the sobriquet LITTLE FINGER.
Quite an odd moniker for an odd person.
Throughout the series, this man (Little Finger) is known to be two faced not to the fellow characters in the movie, but by the audience.
For a long period of time, other characters were oblivious to the lies he told, the fake lives he lived and all sorts of things he did because he was able to play the game so well he thought he was the master of it all.
But alas, nemesis caught up with him and he met his end, not before he had wreaked havoc on innocents with his poisonous tongue.
I brought this forward to demonstrate exactly what I hate and what I will never find myself doing in this life.
I will never live a double life.
Living a life that isn't mine is not something that I'll willingly do even if I am forced to, I won't.
Living double lives means one has to tell a lot of lies, it may seem like a little lie doesn't hurt at first but as one goes deeper into that dark rabbit hole, the lies begin to pile up and bigger lies are told and it becomes a habit that'll be too hard to break.
A lot of disadvantages come with living a fake life or pretending to be what one isn't just to get something or the other. The disadvantages are too great for me to even think of it as an option.
At the end of such a journey humiliation and disgrace awaits on the other end and it's inevitable, one sure day, fate always catches up with such individuals just like little finger met his demise.
When lies are piled on each other, it becomes hard to remember and all the lies told are easily forgotten by the one who tells the lie, plus, those lies always hurt innocent people in one way or another thereby making enemies for oneself and doom lurks around the corner.
People react to situations differently and one cannot predict how people will react when they discover that everything was a lie from the start.
The disgrace of being caught in a lie makes me cringe. I don't ever want to be in a situation like that, it's something I hate and will never do and will also never advise someone to do.
I prefer my dignity intact rather than throw it away in the name of living an illusion.
Double lives have caused many individuals a lot of damage and put them in even worse situations than they were before and looking back I'm sure there'll be regrets and regrets.
There is no truth in living a double life and as a result whatever comes out of ones mouth wouldn't be pure words.
"What's the point?"
I don't see what the fun is in pretending to be another person just to please someone else so one can get a favor in return. It's not the type of life I'd wanna live, it's restricting and there's no single advantage of double lives that'll make it appeal to me.
In our society today, many are in this hole and many keep going deeper and deeper with no hope of ever finding a way out.
People want to be seen in a particular way than what they originally are and when they're called out, the consequences are always dire.
Some are even comfortable with the lives they live but they forget that one day it'll all come crashing.
Nothing built on lies lasts for long and the worst thing an individual can do to himself is to lie to himself. It'll always crumble and it's not a beautiful thing to behold.
Watching an individual fall from grace to grass is quite heartbreaking. Which is why I hate such a lifestyle, I prefer to rise to grace than to fall down flat from it.
Whatever you do, be true to yourself.
Be proud of who you are and what you do.
