The most important part of dealing with stress in general is mentioned in the image above WORRY LESS.
Seems easy and straight forward, like we should all stop worrying about anything and everything. Sadly it's not as easy as it seems which is why we need stress relievers and stress relieving methods to help deal with stress and worry.
There are many ways I cope with stress especially when I begin to worry too much.
As I am a great lover of books, it's a sure way to help me when I feel my reserve running out.
Getting lost in another world will surely do the trick anytime and any day.
Though I love books, books are not the only stress relief methods I have. There are days when I don't feel the need to dive into a book, I listen to music.
Good music is like a balm to the soul and of course eases the mind and soul making one feel blissful despite all the worrisome issues in our world today.
Music is a very good way to unwind and is in fact one of the best way aside books.
Next on my list is FOOD.
I mean, we all know what good food does to the body right?
(:
Food is definitely one of my stress relief methods, a delicious meal can go a very long way in making me feel better about everything. The mind functions properly when the body is satisfied. Which means I'll be able to tackle problems better when I have eaten than when I haven't.
Worrying on an empty stomach is very dangerous, to me anyway. I prefer to worry on a full stomach.
QUALITY TIME WITH LOVED ONES.
In this case, distance is never a barrier and quality time can be spent virtually and physically.
When stressed and in worry, it is advisable to spend time with those you love. That way you won't get to think so much and worry your head.
When I'm stressed out, I call members of my family and we all talk about silly mundane things, we laugh at how silly those mundane things are and we all feel better after the call.
Laughter is indeed the best medicine because as I laugh I feel free and lighter and I feel that the world can be a better place because there are still good people.
EXERCISE.
This is an avenue for me to flex those muscles and work things out in my mind.
I do this whenever I have a tasking job and it's hard to figure out ways to work it out which ends up leaving me stressed with an awful headache.
I do some exercises, I skip mostly for a very long time until my legs begin to cry for mercy.
After that, I jog. As I jog, my mind is figuring out ways to tackle whatever problem is stressing me out and by the time I am finished and I refresh, I'd have a solution ready and that equals a smooth ride and zero stress.
COOKING.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds cooking therapeutic.
The process of preparing a meal or meals is surely a good way to lift the mood especially the part where I get to eat. ;)
Cooking frees the mind of stress, this is because my mind won't be on work or school or anything that's bugging me at the time, it'll be solely on the food I am preparing and when I am done I feel revved to tackle whatever problem is facing me.
Lastly...
MOVIES.
This!
This is always the first option that pops up whenever I feel the need to unwind.
I like action movies, the kind with big guns and explosions and a lot of stunts and all that.
A good action movie is bound to put me in a very great mood for the rest of the day.
The whole process of following the story line of the movie, the suspense and hot action eases my mind and puts me in a good mood to face the world by the time I am done.
Maybe I should have put this as number one.
Doesn't matter anyway, save the best for last they say.
Find a stress relief method that works really well for you and use it to the fullest. Life is tough already and we can't go about with our hearts heavy with worry.
And when stress isn't properly managed, it leads to a lot of bad things.
Most times it's health complications like high blood pressure and the likes. And other times it's much worse, like the horrible things we hear on the news.
Please be safe out there and unstress daily!
These are just my simple easy ways of dealing with stress and they all work perfectly in my life.
Let me know what you think.
