As a writer, I know the number of times I have wished that I had the power of mind control. I have wished and prayed and eventually had to sit down to write whatever it is I had to write myself.
Writing can get exhausting sometimes especially when it involves a lengthy writing project which would involve sitting for hours typing so as to meet up with the deadline when all I just want to do is relax and say out my ideas while my computer magically writes everything I say word for word.
I have tried voice typing before but I realized immediately that I wasn't a fan of it because of the limitations it has. I noticed that when I say a word, it types something else and after saying a lot of things I have to go back to edit the errors which is essentially what I was trying to avoid and is basically the same thing as writing all over again because it'll take a lot of time.
After a few trials, I gave up and decided to type manually seeing as voice typing can't be relied on to properly deliver my message as I have said it.
That brings me to the type of app I'd love to create without worrying about the resources.
- VOICE-WRITING
This app will be specifically designed to help writers who have difficulty sitting for long hours typing and who would just love to relax and write at the same time.
For the app to work, it'd require you to speak to it as the app is essentially for you to say out your ideas or story while it writes everything you say word for word.
There will be special emphasis on the "word for word" feature because whatever you say is what you will see without bothering to begin editing errors from the very beginning and it'd save you a lot of time.
- WHAT WOULD THE APP DO?
Setting up the app would be easy so as to enable usage by everyone. Complicated apps usually discourage people from using it.
After setting up, then it'd be up to you to begin your projects.
There'd be a microphone icon which would be used when speaking and all you'd have to do would be to say everything you'd want to be typed and the app would type it out for you without adding anything or subtracting anything from your words. Every word written would be everything that came out from your mouth and there'd be no form of computer generated write ups.
This app would be a lifesaver if it existed because personally, it'd buy me a lot of time and ease my workload.
I can say what I'd love to write while doing anything in particular with the knowledge that everything I say will be put down exactly the way I want it, down to the last punctuation mark. I just have to say my thoughts and ideas.
Another feature the app would have would be strict privacy guidelines. To ensure that one's works don't fall into the hands of any third party, there wouldn't be an allowance for linking of apps.
I know linking apps can help make everything easier, especially when to post and where but to ensure that one's ideas are not stolen or copied elsewhere, everything that is being said to the app remains in the app until the decision is made to either export or download.
There would be no form of sharing.
The app would be just for each writer alone.
Another awesome feature would be the embracing of all races and accents. I think that was the problem I had with voice typing, my accent was probably difficult to understand though it's really clear.
The Voice-Writing app would have a variety of languages and it would have a smooth translator feature too which would aid smooth writing without the limitations of computer generated errors due to our various accents and if one chooses to write in other languages then, it's great.
As long as it's what works for you.
With this app, writing would be made easier and schedules would be lesser which would give more time for other activities and projects if need be.
