It is not a practice that is hidden and will never ever be hidden because everyone knows and sees it happening on and on . I mean the practice of how the government keeps robbing shoulders with the rich 🤑
The situation is not even how the government does everything in favor of the rich 🤑, but on how the government believes that all they do for the country will only benefit them through the rich since the poor has nothing to offer. So its not a question of favoritism but the case “of Rob Peter to pay Pual “, where they give to the rich and get back what they give in multiple times.
We can say this practice is partly on how the government has been eaten deep with corruption and on the other hand, how the government was not able to put the things that will better the economy in place. So this practice becomes a circle whereby the rich are the only ones enjoying what the government provides due to how they have the means.
Take for instance on how some of the banking institutions calls on some well to businessmen to come and take loans from them, knowing that these rich big men has collateral (assets) to present before the loan 💵 is given. Then on the loan , some interest are charged which the rich will definitely pay because the money borrowed will be invested in a business that will certainly yield more money 💰. And the point here is that the money the bank is lending out to the rich are from other rich men and people in the government .
In situations like this, the poor can never rear there heads to ask for loan because they do not have any assets as collateral. This is the circle we are talking about which everyone knows. Should we now say the government is only for the rich and powerful?
For me , I think 🤔 its a clear answer that has no debate seeing that the rich are getting richer. And the gap between the rich and the poor so wide apart. Because why is it that those who are ruling the country has continued to be one set of people who always is able to provide huge amount of money for campaign support and election malpractice? This is a circle that originated from corruption especially in this part of the world 🌎 where it is seen as nothing.
Every fund the government has circulated in institutions, banks, industries are all coming back to them because they have those they have situated in these places who in one way or the other are returning the money back into their pockets. And those who they can not get back from pay theirs through huge tax.
Another example I have here is how the government distributed electricity in different bands since this era of pre-paid meter . We now has up to 5 bands - meaning A, B, C, D and even F. The Band A’s are being supplied electricity for 24 hrs non stop at the rate of =N=200.00 per unit. The areas that enjoys this supply are all rich people because they can afford it. But if your are poor and happens to live anywhere near there, you are then doomed. The government decided to supply electricity, making the rich to pay through their nose. This is “Robbing Peter to pay Paul”
Then other bands are being rationed to the extent that C, D and F might not even use electricity in days of the week. So what are we talking about? Its obviously clear in our eyes that the government are government for the rich and powerful, but what can we do?
In conclusion, I believe that a government who has the interest of the people in mind will always want to make policies that will mostly favor the poor especially in a country where they know that the citizens are struggling. Its not supposed to be a question of wanting to do things in their best interest but for the interest of those you know that are suffering.
