My family never allowed me to use smartphones until i stepped into university for higher education. My parents think that using mobile at an early age exploits the kids.
They are simply right.
I also think in the similar manner. When a kid is in school he should not be allowed to use mobile phones. Kids get much exposure that is not needed for their age. They get addicted to social media and remain stinky to mobile phones. This habit not only affect their time table of studies but it also effects theirs mental health too.
When I was kid, I used to spend a lot of time in outdoor and indoor plays. I used to spend time with my fellow kids and used to sit with parents. The only source of entertainment was playing outdoor with kids. Back in those days, only technological thing in our lives was television. We used to watch dramas on television with parents. It was a family oriented thing that we enjoyed a lot in our childhood. The other enjoyable thing for enjoyment was newspaper. In my spare time, I used to read newspaper. As i always had ample time to consume so i used to read newspaper again and again. I adopted this habit of reading newspaper from my grandfather. I was away from mobile phones but i was very close to my parents, grandparents, and fellow kids.
I remember, back in those days, magicians used to visit streets and we remained eager to see their magic. I always left streets with my scratching head. Only one thought remained stuck in my mind; How they can do magic and why this skill is not into me?.
Well, now kids are heavily consumed by mobile phones. They remain stuck in digital world. Unaware of the real world, these kids are socially and emotionally sick. This habit of consuming mobile phones is making their bond with siblings, parents and friend weaker day by day.
Kids are least interested in playing outdoor games. I wonder what type of life they are living? This is an extremely sick and strange way of living. Nothing looks and feel complete in their daily life. From sleep, studies to emotional and mental health everything is incomplete.
The net of the digital world is dense in which a normal kid gets involved too much. With increased involvement, kids get trapped in many interlinked issues. From these issues, one prominent issue is cyberbullying. Exposure to mobile phones and the digital world before suitable time is harmful in every way. Their is simply no justification for early exposure. This exposure can exploit the childhood and innocence of children.
After 18 years of life and stepping in university, a person becomes mature and he can decide which type is good for them and which thing is not good for them. We cannot deny that we are living in digital life where technology has invaded our lives this much that we cannot escape from digital world.
