All good thoughts. As you mentioned investors won't invest in something unless they see a return for themselves. They also don't want to invest in someone who doesn't appear capable of doing what they say. I would also say that they tend to like someone who has an actionable plan with a clear road to profits or at the very least a business model that seems sustainable.
