Hello Everyone!!
I would like to share some DOs, and DON'Ts as a Hivian, and also the steps I took, to create my thumbnail...having it in mind that good thumbnails goes a long way, in terms of attracting readers.
Below are some of the things required of every hive user (Not just newbies):
• Post quality content:
This is unarguably one of the fundamental/primary motives for being a member of Hive society in the first place. Posting quality content allows you to share and express your thoughts with like minded people ( people who have similar interests as yours). It's crucial that when crafting posts, they are composed in an articulate manner, delivering information that adds worth to the community at large. Avoid flooding or publishing inferior quality material which does not enhance any meaningful discussion between peers within the group setting.
• Engage with other users:
Just like the saying, "Do unto others what you would have them do unto you." Engaging with other hiver's post, directly or indirectly affects your own post (positively obviously 😅)... In addition to this, as a social platform Hive emphasizes interaction as an essential component of cultivating ties and expanding your fanbase. Always devote effort to responding to fellow users' posts in addition to acknowledging feedback directed towards yours...you know, sometimes not replying other hive users who took time to comment on your post would sometimes spread a wrong impression about you and this is the reason why i try my best to reply everyone who comments on my post (Bots excluded😅). By doing so, you will create a devoted cohort and establish yourself as an esteemed member within this association.
• Respect the community guidelines: Hive has some already laid down rules, that were made to augment a secure milieu for every user. Prioritize reading through these setted rules, try as much as possible to understand them, and adhering to them while generating or engaging with content on the site. This entails avoiding utterances of animosity towards an individual's race or nationality as well as any form of pestering behavior which is deemed unsuitable in this setting.
• Help to Grow the Community:
Hive is a platform which relies on its users to uphold and enhance it in a decentralized manner. So Instead of causing harm to the community, consider bringing value to it instead. Diverse opportunities are open for contributing, ranging from generating content to aiding development or endorsement endeavors. Identify methods that go pretty well with your passions, thereby positively affecting the community at large.
On the other hand, there are some things that are not expected of you as a member of the Hive community. In Fact we all are strongly advised not to indulge in them. Here are some examples:
I) Plagiarism: Participating in plagiarism is the wrongful use of another person's work without acknowledging it. This behavior isn't just morally bad, but is also against the community standards. To ensure that your posts are authentic and genuine, always acknowledge original sources where necessary.
II) Spamming: Within Hive, there are so many communities each having their area of focus...so posting too frequently such as posting 4 to 5 posts per day all In just one community, will most likely be seen as spamming because at that stage, you are no longer posting to educate people...you are rather posting. Just to increase the probability of your post being curated ( Remember curation isn't all hive is about!!!). Actually, there is no issue in self-promotion or publicizing one's own creations, it must be done moderately as opposed to relentlessly advertising without consideration for others within this realm. Behaving selfishly through spamming or excessively promoting oneself could lead many members viewing your actions as annoying rather than advantageous.
III) Engaging in negative behavior:
It's very important to refrain from enacting any form of negative behavior towards fellow members within Hive. Any action, be it hate speech, trolling, or other types of harassment which fall under this category must be avoided at all costs in order to maintain a conducive environment, which supports growth.
IV) Violating community standards: The transgression of community norms is deemed unacceptable on Hive's platform. Users are required to adhere to these standards, and not complying with them might lead to disciplinary measures or even an outright prohibition from the site.
Now I will list the steps I took while trying to make my thumbnail, using my CANVA app.
A. I choose the type of thumbnail i wanted to create, and the dimension of my work space.
B. There is an option between picking an already made template that fits your style. And making your design from scratch...well, I used an already made template...one of these days, I will work on my design from scratch.
C. I highlighted, and replaced the photos with mine...not a hard task really 🙂.
D. I edited the text aspect, and imputed my desired texts.
E. Lastly, I clicked the download button, and ensured it downloaded successfully. That's how I made my thumbnail 🙂🙂.
I will like to say a very big thank you to for initiating this program,
