To me this topic is something I have visited personally, so I know it all depends on an individual to know what is right or wrong depending on his or her definition of it.
Is There Anything Like Too Much Freedom?
I don't think there is anything like too much freedom, it is we in our modern society that has spoilt the concept of what freedom really means, it is just like I do tell my sister that even though everyone doesn't have the time to be monitoring her footstep or locking her in one place doesn't mean we don't know that it's the best to do to her, and I tell her your freedom shouldn't be used in a reckless way but rather in a way that will be beneficial to her.
I have seen someone that didn't have that freedom throughout her teenage age and when eventually she got that freedom she misused it, it resulted in a lot of happenings that made a lot of people in the area not lock up their children, especially female children, there is a way to balance up things even as parents because, in this present age and time, a lot of eye-opening stuff is going on around the world. There are a lot of things that are happening in the world in this present age.
I don't believe in being too strict about giving someone freedom, especially when the person can tell his or her left or right, so there should be ways to make sure the person is on the right path.
Also giving people freedom gives them the opportunity to learn new things and learn to be independent of themselves rather than of other people, it gives them the privilege to become a better person in the nearest future, there are a lot of other great advantages of being given freedom and so it can be of a great advantage to such persons.
It Can Also be Bad
And also freedom can also be misused by certain teenagers and even adults, there are people that misuse these chances, and children may fall into bad situations like hanging out with bad friends, and mixing with these bad friends to do drugs, drinks, parties, etc.
And so this makes it difficult for parents especially actually give their wards or children much freedom, they always want to see them around them, monitor their movement, and also know the kind of friends they keep. It is not a bad thing actually as they as parents will always have their kid's best interest at heart, they want what is best for their kids and will want to go the extra mile to make sure nothing doesn't go wrong with them, even if they have to go through lengths to keep them in check.
So freedom has its good side and also the bad side, what is just there is to always find a way to keep things in balance and then this sorts out every uncertainty.
