Names are what defines a person. You cannot identify a person without their name. A name is the first thing that people use to identify and remember someone. It is a unique identifier that distinguishes one person from another. Therefore, names are important in helping to define a person's identity.

WHAT IS MY FULL NAME
Hi, my name is Imaobong Charity Treasure Adewale Adeleke,* it's a long name right, yeah I agree, let me break it now what I gave such a long name. In Nigeria or a when a child is born , parents and relatives can name a child up to twenty-five names, but thank God this isn't my case I have just four given by my parents , but I have only used two of those names through out my life, and they are Imaobong Charity.

This is because Imaobong is my first name and this is what I am being called at home and Charity is a name I use in school, because people find it hard to pronounce Imaobong. I like being called by my first name but people pronounce it wrong. This made me drop it, so only family members refer to me by that name as well as very close friends. IMAOBONG means love of God or God's love however you interpret it as. This is an ibibio name because I come from the South-south part of Nigeria.

Then you see that name CHARITY I have never liked it, I don't know why, I can't don't, especially when I am being teased about it, Charity also means love, but I don't like the pronunciation of it, though I have it in all my documents, after a while I had to change to something I am much more comfortable with and my parents agreed, which makes me have the name TREASURE it is a name I was being in a church service one faithful day ,i don't know why the pastor said "from today you are treasured" I just claimed it and told my mum, I am now treasure, and she accepted From then on, I started to love my name. It made me feel special and treasured. I was happy to have a name which I felt was truly mine. I was so proud to have a name that was unique and set me apart from the rest. It allowed me to express my individuality and have a sense of belonging.
Ever since then I have always introduced myself as treasure, but I am having a challenge with it, because all my document have my other naes on it, it won't. Be very easy changing everything as it would cost me a lot of money and time. I believe that with time I will be able to do this.
Then the ADEWALE ADELEKE that has now joined my list of long names is my husbands name, my fathers name was OSSOM, wouldn't it be appropriate to introduce myself with that? So I got this name after marriage and I am proud to bear it. Are we means "Crown has come home" while Adeleke means "Crown is above" it is from the western part of Nigeria as my husband is from Oyo state. I glady bear this name with confidence and also because I love the name. I think it is amazing that my name carries such a positive meaning and I am proud to be part of a family that embraces the importance of names. I am proud to be a part of the Adeleke family and I am grateful for the name that I have been given. It is an honor to carry this name and I am proud to be part of the Adeleke family. I am sure that my name will continue to bring positive energy and blessings to my family. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this family and to have such a meaningful name.
