Beggars they say would ride if wishes were horses. I believe you have heard this countless times.
Heard that as a child, still hears it today as an adult. The thing is, nothing seems truer , especially regarding my situation at this point in my life.
Fact is, no matter how difficult ones life or situation is, the beautiful thing is that, it allows you the luxury of dreams and wishes. The beauty to wish things into existence as we desire them. At least it is free, even when they seem almost impossible to achieve.
Every person desires for something, no matter how far fetched those things could be. Irrespective of one's status or achievement, there is that one thing you could crave for that most times you can't get. They might even seem elusive, even if it be for that moment. The world is not complete for everyone.
As a growing adult I have a bucket list of things I would love to have. I have sort of grouped this desires into short term and long term targets. The funny things is, one of the thing in my long term target is actually what I so crave to have now.
I have set a one year plan to achieve this but my craving for this item is making me have a rethink. I might actually get it sooner than later. If only one could just wish and voila! it comes to pass.
As mundane and funny as it might sound, the one thing I wish to have now, that unfortunately is way off my present budget is a TV. Sounds weird right?
The things is, it is not just a TV, but a giant screen TV. Talking about a 100 inch, 8k resolution, ULED TV screen.Probably from Bang & Olufsen. If that is not possible, then any one from Sony will do.
Crazy thinking?
Yeah I know that, the thought even scares me at times. The point is, I believe all dreams and wishes are valid and achievable especially when backed with work. Knowing myself, I know I will achieve it, mayyyyybeeee not immediately. Well, that's why it is in my long term wish in the first place.
But then, the question will always be, why do I even need a TV of that enormous size? Hmm, hold my glass.
You see, aside publishing books and writing on hive, I trade the financial market, forex, stocks and crypto currencies. Most money I make comes from trading this markets. I have a 50' Television that I connect my trading activities to. I love seeing trades on big screen. As big as it might seem, somehow I see it as been inadequate.
Had this mindset the day i was invited to make a presentation to a group of people. The screen used that day was a 75 inch screen TV. I was completely wowed by how beautiful and detailed the trading charts and instruments looked on that screen. I could capture everything and every move in one glance. Since that day I vowed I would get a bigger screen for my work, at least a 100 inch, no matter how lofty if sounded. Getting there.
One of my best form of relaxation is watching movies. When am in the mood and have the time, I could binge watch movies from morning to night. Most of my weekends are spent in cinemas watching latest movies.
You will agree with me that one of the biggest attraction to the cinema is the big screen and near life like sound in the film house. Watching movies on a small screen can never be the same as watching that same movie on a cinema screen by any stretch.
So, the plan is to reduce my outing time, especially as it has become expensive going out now. Thanks to the rising cost of fuel.
The idea is to recreate the cinema atmosphere in the home. Maybe not the same ambience but at least something close. I might not get same screen as the one in the cinema house but a 100 inch TV will more than suffice . Throw in a 1200 watts home theater into the mix and everything is soft.
Imagine watching these movies, extraction 2, Kandahar , Sisu, the expendables or even a live football match between Chelsea and Arsenal on my 100 inch Bang & Olufsen TV and Home theater. Stop playing!.
If this is not heaven on earth, tell me what else is, lol. But then when you look at the cost implications, it remains a vivid imagination, my Nigerian peeps will understand.
The good thing is, I do have a plan. If my trades continue being favourable and I can scale up my publishing, I might just be able to get there quicker than I expect. It's just a function of time and more effort.
For now they remain in my bucket list and imagination, but they will come true, its a given.
