There's some really mixed views on this depending on who you listen to. Some say it's a really bad idea to give your kids any money, others that the pocket money trains kids to be employees. Personally I'm inclined to agree with you that it does help teach the child the value of money but I think as well that you need a child with the correct personality to make the best of the scenario.. :)
