You are absolutely right and I agree with you in this case of giving minors a second chance. Often, I understand the need to punish adults because they are well informed and can fully differentiate between right and wrongs. But minors still have a lot of growing up to do and they need proper guidance while at it because they will make mistakes. So the best thing is to counsel them and ensure they know that society wants the best for them.
