Aslam o Alaikum my #Hive community "I hope you're all doing well, and I'm fine too.
Today being Sunday, I was still sleeping when I got up and told my mom that it's the perfect time to make mango pickle since it's the season. Mom had already brought home mangoes, spices, and mustard oil, so she agreed to make it today since she had a break from chores. We decided to make the pickle together, and I thought I'd share it with you all.
As you all know, the mangoes we commonly eat aren't suitable for pickling. Pickling requires desi mangoes that are very sour and smaller in size.
Today, mom had ordered 5 kilos of mangoes, and she plans to make pickles to share with our relatives as well.
For this, we need a chopping board and a cloth to evenly chop the mangoes,
ensuring they have a uniform shape and size.
Mom then applied salt and turmeric to the chopped mangoes
and left them to dry in the sun.
Once they had dried slightly, mom transferred them to a vessel
and added fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, dried coriander, and nigella seeds.
She then poured mustard oil over them and added red chili peppers.
Finally, we mixed everything well to ensure the spices were evenly distributed.
Now, our pickle will be ready in a few days, and we can enjoy it. I love pickles and have them with every vegetable and even with breakfast during the summer season. Pickles have many benefits for our health due to the spices used in them. That's how we spent our Sunday, making pickles and having a great time. If you liked this post, do let me know in the comments and try making pickles this way. Share with me how you make pickles. Take care, and we'll meet in the next post. Goodbye!
