Growing up, so many things I was told or saw made me want to grow up as fast as possible, you know...
And some parents didn't know that if some children grows up with some of the ideas that had been imputed in them, it could affect them, and so when they realise that what they had in mind growing up wasn't the was it was supposed to be, there are high tendencies of their children not wanting to lean from their parent again, most of them would rather prefer to take information from either the internet or some even their friends are enough to feed their minds with both proper and improper truth...
Growing up, we were always giving a particular hairstyle to barb, one of the improper lies that I was fed when I was growing up was that if you barb other kinds of hair styles and then now go to the extent on not combing your hair, it means you are already a mad man.
So we believed this cause we used to watch Nollywood movies so much, and so when we look at those mad men, your mind will na skip, so then you feel.like you have no choice than to believe them...
So now that I have grown up and I do not feel like or see any need to comb my hair and I want to go out, and my parent sees it, they changed their language from being a mad man to being irresponsible, so I listened to them, but if I still carrii the mad man mentality, and then give birth in the next generation, and tell my children not to leave their hairs uncombed, because they will be tagged as mad people, it won't work then, they might even make fun of me ...
The same thing goes for if I as a male makes my hair, i have turn a bad leave, I have turn a bad child, a bad egg, and so when I grew, I got to realize that it was not just my parents thing, Its all parent in Nigeria. I was coming from a class one day, and then afyer lecture that day, a female classmate made my hair, am so I carried that hair home, until one man I didn't know asked me if that was how it was supposed to be, I'm I supposed to do my hair as a Nigerian Man?
So I got to realize he was being tribalistic, and so I understood that it's not that it's a bad thing to them, but the fact that it's like a borrowed culture is what they don't support...

Another one was about cats, they were like it's was a very dangerous and demonic animal, and so we na sat he'd Cinderella story, Lucifer the wicked cat, and so it was believed that cats were scary, but tor... About last year, I came across a cat, and I so loved the animal, they were cute, friendly and the likes, the loved to be touched, and sk since that time, I didn't see cats the way I used to...
Another thing was that, when I was younger, we were told not to let people touch our head not use our surnames to play.
Now when touched our head then, it will be like they have taken our glory, and so you have to fight to get it back, so you'd almost have a serious fight with he that touched our head, we might not even talk for one week, cause why will you touch my head, it's an insult 😅
If you then call my surname, you have looked for the trouble of my ancestors, and so it will look like the strength of my ancestors has entered me, so the way I'd react after calling my surname, you'd never call it again in your life, even if we get married 😅
It was wasn't funny as of that time, but after we grew up, and we reflected on those rubbish act of ours, 😅 we just laugh out children foolishness...
