There is a certain belief that if the salary details are published online then it could create an honest society. On the other hand, some people has the opposite opinion that it could create chaos and jealousy. Not only that comparison would be regular thing and create pressure among people. I have a different opinion about it, I feel if salaries are public then it's both good and bad but still I think it has more bad affects than good. Like it could create more suffering than benefits if it is done without limits.
So what are the good things I'm talking about? One of them is that companies won't be able to give someone partial benefits than rest of the employees. It could create fair salaries for every employees accodoring to their positions. So in a way it is gonna reduce some of the corruption and unfair treatment. Employees could easily find out either they are getting enough paid or less than others. It is a great way to expose the people who takes benefits from the company and suddenly become extremely rich overnight without a clear source of income.
Not only that, for governments investigation for crimes in business activities would become easier and the culprits are easy to catch. When these salaries are public employees may feel more confident asking for fair pay when they can compare their earnings with others. So it's very beneficial for the employers.
Now let's discuss about the negative things. So more than good, there are many negative effects. Well, money is one's personal information and people do not like to share about personal details online even if it's salary. Like the whole world is gonna know how much you earn monthly and that's a weird thing, like there is no privacy at all. Publishing salaries online may create jealousy amongst family members. For example in a family if there are two sons and the younger son earns more than the elder son, then the parents and relatives will taunt him for sure because that's what usually happpens in every households.
They would be embarrassed and an unhealthy competition could start between family. Not only that it could even happen between friends or coworkers. People might judge and treat someone based on their salaries, like who earns more and who earns less and they would not care about who is doing hard work or who has a good personality. Also, kidnapping can increase due to this matter or people might get blackmailed easily.
Currently, I'm a student and for young people like me it could create pressure. I already feel pressure about my future plan and success. Most of the people, to save their pride would start taking high paid jobs only and they won't think about their passion or talent anymore. People might only respect the people who are rich, or be friends with someone wealthy only for their money. Also, who has the professions of teachers or artists they might face disrespect because they earn less.
In conclusion, public salaries may improve fairness and help reduce corruption, but it's not the correct way to maintain our society. It can harm privacy and relationships. I think only a few specific places should allow their salaries to be shown online not everyone worldwide. So, that crime rates in business can become less day by day. I don't want a future where my privacy won't be protected and revealed without my permission. I would not like to grab attention by sharing my salary online. I wish for a beautiful society without any competition or jealousy.
