Good morning. What a sunny morning it is today even if social media is chaos. I try to stay away from news that can give me stress such as the ongoing war between the other countries. I wanna enjoy this summer season by planting vegetables as the world faces the crisis. When the world is in conflict, why not collecting different varieties of plants? We can get benefit from them not just their nitritions when we eat but the air they give that alleviates anxiety.
I was very happy that my Okra plant is still producing fruit even if the stem was cut. I cut it last week because there were many worms in the leaves that scare me. They’re hairy and itchy that are dangerous for my grandchildren. However, I love stemming Okra that is dipped in a spicy vinegar. My grand children, they are picky of foods but they like this vegetable. When I was young, I hated to crunch in its slimy taste, but while I age, my taste bud began to change. This has been my craving.
My Alugbati is also growing. I was effortful to plant it on pot but several months have passed, they don’t. It is growing by seeds, not by stems and they’re just growing by themselves. God’s creation is so wonderful.
This one is also growing by itself but I have no idea what its name. Do you know what is it? Please comment down below. These days, I’m fond of planting green plants in my patio and vegetables on the yard. It’s hard for me to grow a lemon grass because my yard is not spacious. It was five months ago when I weeded the growing lemon grass because I thought it will grow faster again. But I lost hope.
Let’s eat everyone. I sauteed bamboo shoot with pork. It’s my favorite vegetable. They say that it can increase the uric acid in the body, but I don’t care. While we’re alive, why not eat the foods that we crave? How do you cook bamboo shoot on your own version? Here in the Philippines, some people mix it with a cow intestines. Many peope love it, even me. For me, it’s complicated to cook it because we should remove the stinky smell. But at home, I just saute the pork with garlic, red pepper and other seasonings. The taste is crunchy and delicious! You should try. Happy summer!
