Sometimes, I take a casual shot in the morning, and then - sometimes, that short moment becomes the thing that will drive the whole day... or almost :)
I photographed this wild rose (Rosa canina) yesterday at 8:23 AM. I took a little detour on my way from the grocery store and spent some time among the shrubs near the sea. I returned home, prepared another post for HIVE, and forgot about the rose.
Then I went for a drive in the afternoon, with some friends, we cruised around small towns and villages in the area about 30 - 40 kilometers from where I live ... and I noticed an old abandoned house, partially covered with ivy. It was visible from the road ... a road I passed many times, but I had the sensation of seeing the house for the first time ... and something was, kind of pulling me ... or pushing me ... towards that place in the tall grass.
Dense, intricate vegetation with many thorns was growing all around the yard ... and there, among some figs and blackberries ...
... I found some wild roses, of the same kind - Rosa canina.
I took a few shots, and then we continued our rambling. We visited quite a few places, we have seen and photographed many cool, small details ... but this stuff will appear in some other post :)
On the way back, not far from home, we stopped by the small unpaved road that leads through the woods, and took a little walk along that road. We arrived at some meadow surrounded with shrubs ... and those shrubs were the Rosa canina plants - covered with flowers.

The Mediterranean spotted chafers (Oxythyrea funesta) were feeding & mating among the petals ...

... and the small, fast Oedemera nobilis beetles, were running and flying around.
I enjoyed very much observing the insects, and I was very pleased by the way the idea of some short post about roses was growing in my mind :D.
We were soon home. Each one in its own house. I did some stuff on the PC, cleaned some dishes, and then in the evening I went to the coast not far from my home to take a bit of refreshment in the sea.
Of course, I couldn't avoid the local roses :D
It was an extremely appropriate way to end the day that started with a rose.
I like this relatively new mindset of mine, that started with blogging on Steemit, and continues to develop on HIVE.A mindset that inspires me to explore small things in the way I rarely did before, a mindset that makes me look at everything around me like on a potential story, usually a loose and rambling story - but still kind of meaningful :) at least to me.
As always in these posts on HIVE, all the photographs are my work.
Have a good day, or night, wherever on the planet you are.
