Thorgell looked on with pride at the land that had grown to be his home.
He's been here for 5 years, the land saving him and him saving it. Reminded him of those days at war, where all he had to his name was his trusty sword, his bravery and scent for luck.
And boy did bravery and luck guide his way that fateful day he stumbled upon this spot.
After the long battles of money falls, the world was shaken by the outcome of the war.
The time of normal money was slowly but surely coming to an end and the time of digital coins was beginning.
The digital coins, although highly profitable, came with a risk ...
Sometimes some could put in millions worth of money, time and effort and come out with nil returns or even a loss.
Sometimes breaking even during such times was a huge blessing to most warriors.
The newly formed clan of vikings, The Coin Eaters, flourished during these times.
Using their heightened sense of danger and abnormal scent of luck, they fought battles for lands containing different coins that were bound to be profitable.
Jumping off them and discarding the coins when their danger bells rang off that it was about to go sour.
The lifestyle was one of constant fear and alertness, yet it was profitable. That was the major driving force between them.
Times changed again and a new form of coins came out, Deci they called them.
Coins whose outcomes weren't dependent on a particular person or group.
Coins meant to be more stable.
The Coin Eaters were skeptical, some were already used to the old ways which worked.
They turned it down at first, but a few decided to give it a try.
Thorgell, a part of that few, set his eyes on a little red coin growing in a distant land on the social seas.
It was so small that most warriors put a blind eye to it.
Yet Thorgell was fascinated, he travelled to the land and saw a small group of people already with the coin, enjoying what little joy it gave them.
Making the most out of what they have, thriving and caring for each other like a community.
Thorgell didn't know what to make of it, so many people with money and all were happy. He looked around and discovered that none seemed to be warriors like him, talk less of vikings.
They welcomed him within their midst and he felt safe with them, truly safe.
Hive is what they called the coin and indeed the island embodied that name in the way its people worked together and were one.
Slowly Hive got bigger and Thorgell watched it grow to be quite noticeable, eventually people started coming towards it and it was registered in the map of BinΓ€ncΔ.
Everyone was getting bigger with the coin too, even Thorgell who was just an early onsetter earned a reputation which continued growing.
Unfortunately once something good becomes big it attracts all kinds of attention and Hive suffered an attack.
Thorgell's old Coin Eater instincts told him what to do but still he stayed and helped them fight.
Wounded but not down, the Hive island survived and still continued growing, licking its wounds and becoming stronger like a warrior of its own.
5 years later and Thorgell was lord over a certain portion of hive, a whale as that was the strange term they classified their lords.
36 years of age and he looked at his life now, it was looking pretty Sunny.
Now he has a new name and he sometimes participates in bringing people to this wonderful island that changed his life, in the hopes that it would grow as big as BTcity or Ethtown.
Most folks still see him on the social waters and tremble or fawn in sight of the fabled Crypto Eater Thorgell, but he laughs at them.
"I go by a new name now." He tells his fans and/or competitors.
He points to the island where he's sailing to "Over at hive, they call me Dan."
Well just seeing this initiative and community an hour or so ago and a Crypto infused story decided to flow out.
Happy birthday in arrears again boss and one of my favorite whale .
#hive is lucky to have warriors as hardworking and peace loving as you β¨
