I have been in crypto since 2014 and so far whatever crypto I earned, I reinvested. The problem however is my dear wife... Whenever I speak about my crypto successes, she says „where is this money?“ and I always have to tell her that the money works much better in the cryptoworld than in a bank account. Well, after so many years, I needed to find a way to actually start using this money in the real world. Mainly to justify the huge amount of time I spend doing my crypto stuff in the eyes of my wife :-)

The difficulties of getting a crypto credit card in my country
I live in Switzerland which in a way is very progressive when it comes to crypto. However, Switzerland makes everything in a special way. We are in the middle of Europe but we are not in the European union. This means that there are different rules regarding credit cards and such.
I tried to get a credit card with binance but unfortunately I'm not eligible for one in Switzerland. The next thing I tried was Wirex where they said that it's possible to get a card in my country. I opened an account and tried to ask for a card but the button „ask for card“ simply didn't appear on my app. I contacted support but they couldn't help me...
I also opened an account with crypto.com but I was confused with the fact that I needed to stake quite a significant amount of CRO tokens to get a card. I kind of lost hope for some time.
A couple of weeks ago, I checked crypto.com again and I realised that there are actually quite a lot of different cards to chose from and some don't require any CRO tokens to be staked! I went for this solution and had to go through some verification processes. I could quite quickly get a virtual visa card and order a plastic card.
On Saturday, I finally got this physical card and I just had to verify it in the crytpo.com app. My first trial to purchase something failed because I tried to use it as a contactless card. On the second attempt, I entered the pin code and I could pay the coffee for me and for my wife. My first coffee entirely paid with crypto and of course finally a proof to my wife that this crypto money isn't totally useless :-)
