We had our Halloween party at the local elementary school in Huko. We teach a second grade English class for underprivileged kids. So we try our best to celebrate the holidays.
Halloween isn’t celebrated in Taiwan except for in English class. Even then, it’s not that much fun.
And we had to keep it educational. So we have to teach vocabulary.
But we also taught a trick or treat song.
Some of the kids had costumes. But many didn’t. Luckily, our English cram school has quite a few. So we brought them and let the students without costumes dress up.
Then we had an art and crafts so the kids could make a mask. And we played a matching game with the new vocabulary.
In the picture above, we are playing the matching game. We roll a dice with pictures on then and the students have to match the picture with the cards on the table. So the students have to put their hands up until the teacher says go!
Winners got sticker, bracelets, and awards. Everyone got some candy with the magic words.
It was fun, but this time i didn’t take the pictures. I usually don’t appear, because i love taking pictures and close ups. I feel these pictures are not very good.
*pictures taken with a big pirate in back, not taken by me. ;). However, i have permission from the school to use them.
