I am alive today, and once again reminded that I'm blessed.
My good friend Durward brought me to the Gateway Auto Museum in Gateway, Colorado. Home of The Hendricks Collection.
It blew me away, and I was definitely not ready for the adventure that I was about to embark on.
Leading me through a humbling exhibition of nature's beauty and it's grandeur.
As we traveled up and through seemingly endless mountains. Cruising along a road that twisted and weaved it way through a terrain that was centuries in it's forming.
I had almost forgotten that out journey had a destination, and almost missed the moment of our arrival.
Taking a moment to appreciate the museum grounds, and it's surroundings.
We headed to the entrance of the museum.
It's large wooden doors were very telling of the treasures that were awaiting us inside.
We were immediately greeted by this beauty.
I could barely make my way to the front desk. Luckily my friend has visited this museum many times before, and he was a little more self composed.
After a quick video describing the museum's history, an overview of the exhibit, and their guidelines. We were allowed to make our way through, and experience the treasures for ourselves.
I couldn't help but immerse myself, once again, in the experience.
Soon it became appearant that I had not given myself enough time to fully enjoy the visual platters now available to me.
The level of craftsmanship expressed in the intricate design of each car.
Seemed to demanded it's own allotted time, for the full appreciation of the engineering that lead to their creation.
Time that I had not given myself. As it stood, I only had an hour. Which was barely enough time for me to get through the first room.
I really appreciate the patience down to me by the people at the museum. At about fifteen minutes after closing, I realized the time. Then I resorted to simply enjoying a quick walk through.
Finally giving in at about 30 minutes after close, thanking them for their patience, and slowly making my way to the entrance.
Despite my disappointment in not having given myself enough time. I was immediately welcomed by the world surrounding the museum.
Then I wass once again, I surrounding by natural beauty.
What a wonderful reminder that I'm blessed to be able to say, "I am alive today."
