Today has involved running errands with one of my little ones. We are watching food prices very carefully and observing what item prices are going up and what to stock up on before they go up.
Our observation was that potatoes have gone WAY up, now it's a dollar per pound. For potatoes. POTATOES!
Butter has gone way up at about $7 per pound, but there were some on sale for $4/lb that was sold out. It didn't look like they had much. Not as many sales or clearance as other time we have visited.
"Our Low Price?" An 8 pound bag of potatoes for $8. I never thought I would see potatoes a dollar per pound. I really hope it's temporary, but given what's going on, this might be a sign of months to come.
We might do better growing potatoes! IF we could pull dollars out of our soil, we should do it!
How are food prices where you are?
Bless the Most High!
