Our political activism isn't big financial donations or making calls or handing out flyers - it's baking a cake. The fund-raising event coming up this evening has a limited budget, and any pennies saved are pennies that to towards the success of this fund raiser. One way to save pennies is to avoid the bakery and BECOME the bakery!
Baking and Cooling the Cake
A 12x18" pan makes a sheet cake large enough to accomodate a lot of people.
After baking, we leave it upside-down to cool, so it won't sink in the middle.
Splitting the Cake
After cooling, we used dental floss to split the cake right through the middle, to add a layer of filling.
So one cake becomes two cakes... until it's one (extra yummy) cake again.
The Filling
The filling is the same that is found in a cannoli, it's creamy and sweet. And tastes even better with small chocolate chips chopped into it!
The Frosting
Lauren made this amazing frosting with real cream. It's light and fluffy and not overly-sweet, which I really enjoy. I'm not a fan of the super sugary frostings, so often used on these large cakes.
The decoration isn't super fancy, since this is a practical cake to serve a lot of plates. But I thin it's very elegant just as it is!
We boxed it up and put it outside to chill. We'll bring it to the event tonight, I think it'll be a big hit!
My oldest daughter practice making decorations with the frosting and she did a great job!
This was her first time practicing cake decorating! Where did all these talented people come from? Bless the Most High!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin
We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.
No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny
Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.
Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
