I lived for a while in 2019 on the tenth floor of ↑this building↑. Supposedly it was built for low income SENIORS
What follows happened on this date
The alarms are still going off downstairs, the hallways are filled with the smell of cooking up here, but the elevators were working, fire fighters were in the lobby, I know not what caused this fiasco, but color me UNHAPPY.
I climbed down all those 20 short sections of stairs, stood outside for ½ hr in my shorts, sneakers, wallet keys and some meds in my pockets, but NO TEETH in my head.
If this happens again, I will lay up there in my bed.
I'll know later if it was real, or I will not know later because I died in my bed.
This is ridiculous.
There was one old lady with a cane ahead of us, who was (with help from her son) taking ONE STEP AT A TIME, creating a bottle neck. We all got around her. I could see her after I got outside, she was sitting on the steps on the 4th floor landing.
I don't know what the answer is, but there HAS TO BE a better one for getting handicapped and older people like us out of a building in these situations.
One of the other residents had forgotten some meat cooking in her oven, causing the smoke and evacuation.
Man ALIVE I am happy to be outta that "hell's tower"
