MARRIAGE IS BEAUTIFUL
Warmest greetings all.
It's a delight to be here again to share with you the enjoyable wedding ceremony I attended on Easter Monday.
The wedding was that of one of my village sisters named Immaculata, and Kelechi. it took place at our home parish, St Peter Clever Catholic Church, Umueleghele, Isiala Ngwá South LGA of Abia State.
You know there's this exciting thing about weddings. It's always filled with glow, laughter, joy, love, oh, the list is endless.
The color of the day was magenta, ox-blood, baby pink, gold, and white.
The bride was dressed in a white ball gown with a flowing veil and held a beautiful handmade flower bouquet. The groom wore a magenta colored 3 piece suit with a white shirt and black bow tie, likewise the groom's man while the maid of honor wore a magenta colored sequin gown.
For the bridal train, some wore baby pink colored gowns while others wore magenta colors.
The beautiful thing about the couple is that they are both young, employed; teaching in the same school, from the same faith, Catholic Church and same tribe. They were just perfectly made for each other. It was a beautiful thing to behold.
The mass celebration had four priests in attendance, with the officiating priest being the bride's uncle. During the homily, the priest enjoined them to always keep to their marital vows and not allow third parties to come in between their marriage. Let intimacy not be found wanting between you.
To the the groom he said
You owe your wife the duty of loving cherishing, and providing for her and the family. Take care of her, buy gifts, clothes and other beautiful things for her. Do not ever make her cry and regret ever marrying you. Never you raise your hands to beat her for any day you do, you have lost her because she will hate you for the rest of her life. Remember, she's the weaker vessel and your help mate, treat her as one.
This was his words for the bride
Immaculata, I've known you right from birth. You are a good girl, respectful, humble and cool headed. Continue with all these virtues. Do not ever make the mistake of bringing discord between your husband and his family. They are now your family. Respect and love them.
The duty you owe your husband is to respect and take care of him too. Buy him gifts, clothes etc.
After these wonderful piece of advices, they exchanged marital vows.
That done, he blessed them and presented them to the church as Mr Christopher Kelechi and Mrs Immaculata Ihechi Eluwa, the latest couple in town.
The highpoint of the ceremony was when the groom was asked to "kiss the bride" and he did so gently to the clapping, shouts of "Awwnns" and the rest from the congregation.
Mass celebration done, they signed their marriage certificate and the priest presented it to them with their marriage sponsors being present.

Photograph time with the couple.

Next was reception and it was lit. The venue was at the primary school's playground, owned by the Parish. The decoration was beautiful, the band group performed optimally, releasing beats and sweet melodies.
Being a festive period and a public holiday too, many distinguished guests including family, friends and well wishers were well in attendance.
The bride was dressed in a peach colored sequin gown which accentuated her shape and matched her skin color too. She was looking so beautiful. The groom still had his suits on.
As they danced they were sprayed with money from all corners. It was just like a jamboree.
Cutting of cake. At the last spelling of the name "Jesus" the cut their cake followed by popping of champagne by the groom's man.
A clown known as "Uncle JB" due to his funny dressing, was also present, entertaining the guests with his funny dance steps and jokes.
The popular "item 7" was available which was made up of white rice with chicken sauce, fried rice, Naija party jellof rice, salad, beef, chicken, fish moi moi, vegetable and egusi soup with swallow. All brands of drink were also made available to the guests. Everyone was well served. I ate jellof rice with salad and chicken, that's my own as usual.
Gift items / souvenirs were also given to guests. I got a beautiful plastic basket for storing fruits.
It was such an enjoyable event. This is actually the first wedding I attended this year and glad that I did because I saw some people I haven't seen for a long time now and also got acquainted with other people too.
