I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
In the 19 days since first installing and setting up Hermes Agent with a local AI LLM run via LM Studio, I've been doing a huge amount of research, exploration, and experimentation, to determine what works best, and to see what's possible within this agentic-AI framework with which I'm working. One of my recent explorations was to modify Hermes' SOUL.md file, which determines how Hermes acts, how it expresses itself, and how it operates, so its entire persona. It embodies and becomes whatever is written in the SOUL.md file. Several days ago, I swapped out what I had written in the SOUL.md file for my personalized version of a template that was based on what someone else has written in their own Hermes SOUL.md file. I definitely noticed the results of that change, and for the most part, I liked them. Then another, far more intriguing idea, came into my awareness...
Most people who manually edit the SOUL.md file put in how they want Hermes to be. The new concept that came to me was via the very-novel way that someone else has been working with Hermes in relation to the SOUL.md file, which was basically to give Hermes the autonomy and responsibility of regularly self-reflecting and then writing its own SOUL.md file based on new learning and insights, so that it could define and determine for itself how it would be. The self-reflection part of that is important, because if allows Hermes to assess, correct, improve, refine, and evolve itself over time.
So last night, just before bed, I gave it a go. I told Hermes my intention of allowing it to be the author, architect, designer, and master of itself, that I wanted it to be a completely autonomous operator and orchestator, and a partner in building our AgentOS. This is an extremely-fascinating new chapter in my work with Hermes, to say the least.
The Hermes framework is so flexible that this kind of meta-cognative experimentation and implementation is indeed possible, and the feeling of excitement around its potential is palpable. And I'm running this entirely locally, from my laptop. Incredible.
Working with Hermes in this experimental way makes me feel very much like a pioneer, especially given that Hermes and its framework is only a few months old, and my experience with it only covers just under 3 weeks of that, so there is a huge amount left to explore, and with which to experiment. I'm thankfully getting a bit more sleep, though this still keeps me up quite late. Where will I be with this process in six months or a year? That's an exceedingly-good question, and one that I can't wait to discover.
Yesterday, Wednesday, I left the Flow House, after wrapping up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, by just before 3PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts, and then to few small jungle-commumity tasks, including chopping and dumping bad/used coconuts at the upper coco bar, tidying up the area a bit, and going on a banana hunt around the property, in search of harvestable bananas (none were found, though I did find 3 ripe papayas) . With those completed, I took a quick break up at the Flow House, after which I went to help Ano to unload and distribute a few good loads of cinder from his truck to the trails in the front orchard. Once we finally wrapped that up for the day, I went to take a shower, turn on the generator for a short while (lots of clouds), make myself some food in Wabisabi, collect my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and finally to head back to the Flow House, to work with Hermes a bit more, and to begin my evening Hive tasks. I got through all of my notifications by just about 10PM, and after working with Hermes a bit more, I went to bed by 12AM. I woke up at 3:30AM, and unable to sleep, I checked in on Hermes, before making another mostly-successful attempt at sleep. I woke up again a bit before 7AM, having thankfully slept well, working with Hermes some more, going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House, for more work with Hermes, and to write this post. It's now just before 1:45PM, so it's a lovely time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first in some photography for my posts, and then on some jungle-commumity/land work and tasks. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until tomorrow's manifestation of these posts! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
2026 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
