I walk everyday but there is something extra special on #Wednesdaywalk day, brought to us by the clever photographer . A couple of days ago on Wednesday I did what I normally do, trust mother nature to put something extraordinary in my way to photograph. And, as usual out of my garden gate I strode armed with enthusiasm, energy and expectations and my iPhone in my pocket.
Not too far into my walk mother nature tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to the chopped up tree trunks left to decompose into the earth. At least I thought it was a tap. I liked the fence photo frame as I looked into the nature strip. It was a nice effect was my thinking.

Not too far beyond this earthy rustic look I saw this green looking scene wondering how could there be such stark differences so close together. Nothing is ever the same in nature.

But, from that time onwards in my walk for some inexplicable reason I no longer looked down and to my left, instead I looked up at the clouds. To me they are highly entertaining, forever changing and extraordinarily artistic. I see all kinds of shapes and figures. On that day I saw lots of dark cumulus clouds gathering, a positive sign for rain. It is dry everywhere in Queensland at the moment, not a good sign with summer and the fire season coming all too quickly.

This pine tree looked like Church spire touching the clouds.

Definitely no rain was my decision after seeing this sight, we need much heavier, darker and fuller clouds for rain was my logical thinking.

So homeward bound I walked and got caught up with one thing and another leaving my photos and post writing for another day. But as fate and mother nature goes, rain did fall and did so in the most loud dramatic thunderous and mighty way last night.
The clouds from my walk had obviously turned into cumulonimbus ones. And better still, the rain pelted down on the roof and yard keeping me wide awake. It was the best show to listen to.
Early the next morning I woke early and was out of bed in a flash. I had to see the rain on the plants. Still in my pyjamas and bare footed I excitedly explored the very wet flowers and green leaves covered in droplets of water. How magical, mother nature had proved her worth to make #Wednesdaywalk a double joy. This far exceeded my intentions.

Going from shrub to flower to plant in a light rain taking lots of photos was such a fun and totally unexpected start to my Friday. It had been a long time since I had seen so many water drops on the plants and flowers.

I love how the water drops sat on the petals and leaves, so fresh. Nature has such an artistic flair.

Here are water drops sitting on the leaves of the gerbera plant and one little drop hanging of the stem of the little bud.

I have not seen water droplets on the pretty pink petals of the geranium before. It seemed to be singing its thank you to the clouds. But then I have a vivid imagination.

These little green tomatoes growing in the little vegetable garden were definitely grateful for the rain, they looked very sweet covered with rain drops.

My rather long #Wednesdaypost has been both long drawn out and full of unexpected action over a couple of days. I enjoyed a long walk this morning as I frenetically walked all over the front and back gardens closely inspecting the water droplets. It was the best time and only time to see the full effect of the storming rain.
