Stay in isolation they say, no stepping through the garden gate if you are a close contact of someone with covid, even if you test negative a number of times. Unfortunately my hubby tested negative last week. The government is suggesting changes to this rule after the May elections. But not right now!
I understand the reason for rules but I also longed to walk the surf beach across the road. I could easily go when it is deserted and empty when the sun sets at end the day, empty of fellow walking enthusiasts. I promise not to go near anyone. Would anyone see me sneak out in the dark light of night coming, of the fading sunset I wonder?
The beckoning whispers of the sand and the ocean kept calling for a few days, I heard the words on the wind, as the sunset faded and the darkness set in, plenty of space for you and any beach loving dawdlers was the repeating message.
I heard the soft murmuring everyday until my mind was made up to do a sneak walk through the gate in the dark light of the fading sunset, no-one will know I am suppose to stay at home. I felt happy, gleeful, free striding through the gate along the footpath, and the sandy path until I reached a sand dune.
I saw so many amazing sights on this beach during my sneaky walks.
Here is a fantastic wow kind of view that greeted me on one occasion.
I would always look up and down the beach, here is one of the sights I saw, to me it was a beautiful cloudless eerie mystical scene .........
A cap hanging on the edge of a big log caught my eye on one cloudy end of the day .......
And a sand castle with a little silver shoe on the top for decoration, how much fun it would have been for the holiday makers building this castle.
Everyone of my sneaky at the very end of the day walks would end all too soon, the light faded as the darkness took over. A sign for me to walk home again.
I really like the dark and the light in this shot, it seemed that day was trying to hang on a little bit longer. I think the couple standing on the edge of the shoreline added to the drama of this photo . They were the only other people present on the beach this night.
As I walked home I noted the extreme contrast of the street and the beach. One man made and one made by nature, both different but also both beautiful.
It was only 5:45pm when I took this last photo. At the moment in the first month of autumn sunset occurs at 5:30pm, when the light of sunset is still reining supreme in the sky as night takes over.
So finishes my Wednesday Walk post on the surf beach once again, one that is made up of several walks. Thank you as always Mr Nice Guy Hive account@tattoodjay for creating #Wednesdaywalk on Hive. Easy as pie. Walking in nature always replenishes my energy. I know that I am not alone with my love for nature, it is indeed amazing.
