In previous years, for various reasons, I had not attended this festivity, so characteristic of the city. I had attended other events of the same festival, but they were held in another part of the city.
But I decided to take this walk with my mother and enjoy it.
I walked to Marqués de Larios street where I could hear the music and the joy from far away.
On my way I came across a wonderful church, where I was amazed by its architecture. Many restaurants were also dressed up for the festivities and many tourists were enjoying the atmosphere.
I came across another church on the Plaza de los Mártires. Beautiful buildings, history speaks and art is visible in their structures.
The balconies of the buildings were full of flowers and lots of colour, everywhere I looked as I walked towards my destination, everything was joy.
I was struck by this awning and its painting, which could only be seen if I walked in front of the restaurant that had it, along a very narrow street. Those beauties that can only be discovered by paying close attention.
I arrive at the Plaza de la Constitución and begin to see the women in their flamenco dresses, the decorations, the music, the posters, the musical instruments. Everything meticulously detailed for the occasion.
Stalls and stalls everywhere I looked, this one in particular had guitars that greeted me amidst wonderful colours.
This other one with multiple flowers of different colours, crowded with them, was an explosion of joy for the eyes.
In the shop "Flavours of Malaga" there was a poster with the name of the special sweet wine of the city fair, the most characteristic and famous. Cartojal, as it is called, is only consumed at the fair. It is made from muscatel grapes and is very popular.
Another stand with beautiful, big and cheerful handkerchiefs is interspersed to attract attention, who wouldn't want one?
The singing, dancing and verdiales could be found all along the long street, and many groups of people dancing impromptu with smiles on their faces, to the music and the beautiful typical songs.
This stall I think was there because of the intense heat, although the fans are very characteristic. More and more colour, variety, flowers. In this case the fans attracted my attention a lot, especially because of their paintings and decorations, they were all different.
Musicians with different instruments, making a round and people stopped to watch them, listen and dance. A very emotional moment as their songs were familiar to me from my ancestors, as were the previous performances seen along the route.
I was getting closer to the end and admired the super beautiful structure they had put up at one of the entrances to the street, I would be closer to see the details.
People taking pictures at the hair flower stalls, happily dressed in flamenco costumes. Beautiful dresses, also with a lot of variety, styles and colours.
I was already at the other end, enjoying the view of the huge artistic performance, where you can see a couple dancing. Thousands of tourists passing through this fair, as well as local residents on this special date, which is not to be missed.
The decorations overhead were wonderful, as well as on the balconies and windows of each of the buildings.
Smiles, dancing, colour, flowers, singing, music and above all that immense excitement of the people of Malaga every time the Malaga fair takes place.
This year I was able to be among them and enjoy it with a lot of feeling together with my mother, as it brings back many memories of our ancestors.
I hope you have taken this great ride with me and liked it.
Thank you for reading and watching this far, best regards to all of you and see you next time.
Amonet.
