There are walks and excursions that are very special at this time of year. Last year I discovered this marvel of nativity scenes in the city and I promised myself to take a tour of them this year, enjoying a different kind of walk, where the magic of Christmas is present with more than just lights.
The town hall celebrates Christmas every year by offering to all the people of Malaga and, of course, to all those who pass through the city, a wonderful and enormous nativity scene, made up of hundreds of statuettes and decorations.
I believe that this nativity scene is the best in the city, not only because of its enormous and extensive layout, but also because of the dedication, the scenery and the number of creations it contains. This shows great work, even though the statuettes, for example, are made of resin, the scenery of each part of the route is very special, the setting of each scene we see, the proper lighting, which is wonderful, and other details that I will mention.
Every part, every space of the huge crib was wonderful, you can't hear it because what I bring you are photographs, but in the atmosphere you could hear the sound of the water fountains in different parts where villages, rivers or waterfalls were represented, but you could also hear the sounds of the crackling of the chimneys, where in several parts of the crib houses or constructions were represented, as well as bonfires.
And not only could the sounds of these fountains or rivers and bonfires or chimneys be heard, but they could also be seen materialised, in the first case as real miniature fountains and in the second as lights representing fire.
The environment changed in tone as you moved along the route, as if it were day at some points and night at others. This can be seen in the background, where sometimes stars and the moon appear.
But also each statuette was impressive, as it was made in great detail and all represented some moment in history, so it was like a walk through the streets and spaces not only of small villages and fields, but also a walk that tells a beautiful story, the story of the birth of Jesus. Also the story of all the events of the time surrounding this great event that changed the whole world.
In different parts of this wonderful crib, the lights were focused on special situations or moments, drawing the attention of all who saw it. There were parts that were difficult to see because the crib was so deep and long, but everything was exceptional. I have no words to describe such beauty, but I think you can appreciate it through the photographs, which can be enlarged to see the magnificent details.
Everything was measured, as I said, down to the last detail: the buildings, the vegetation, the water, the fire, the figurines, the sounds, the lighting? That is why, in my opinion, I think it is the best nativity scene of all.
There are many in the city and I hope to visit them all, but I was delighted to start with this one, as it never disappoints and the number of visitors is incredible, with many people queuing up to appreciate and admire it.
Thank you for joining me on this Wednesday walk, I send you my best wishes. See you soon.
