The walks along the paths and the heights give different visions of a landscape, the colours change, the sun reflects differently and even the air is different. The world seems far away and one becomes part of the same environment, of nature, where silence and harmony reign.
I like it when in places that are not castles I find paths or entrances like this one, they seem to lead me to some mysterious portal where I can find immense surprises and it is almost always like that.
The number of parks and places in the city are countless, I have not yet been able to visit them all and each one takes me several days if I want to enjoy them as I should and as I want to. This area of the city has many entrances, some in the lower areas of the lagoon and others in the higher areas. This time I ventured into one of the higher ones and the views did not disappoint.
Almost the whole place had a safety railing and I tried to walk along the path next to it, i.e. I turned off the usual hiking path and followed a dirt road through the vegetation.
I could see the lagoon from above where the clouds reflected on the water and the shades of blue changed as the clouds passed and hid or let the sun shine through.
In the distance I could see the buildings, the trees, but in the place where I was there was only silence, the silence of the breeze that generates a sweet music among the branches, the leaves, passing close to you and whispering things, all beautiful things.
Also in the distance I could see some towers, I think they refer to electricity, this place is not exactly in the centre of the city, but quite far away and it is usual to see those towers crossing the landscape to bring electricity.
Meanwhile the clouds drew beautiful figures in the sky, generating those marvellous reflections on the water. On the other hand, I came across a sign that talked about biodiversity and although it had a lot of graffiti on it, I could read what it said.
It talked about genetic, species and ecological diversity and how they were present in this place, especially the plant species, such as rosemary, broom, pines, holm oaks and carob trees. It's really not nice when they ruin these informative signs. I think it happens everywhere in the world and here is no exception.
He also talked about the species of birds and other animals in the place, such as ducks, geese, fish, turtles and many of the birds found among the trees.
I continued my walk looking everywhere, both in the direction of the lagoon and to a higher area with trees and lots of greenery.
There were dirt tracks all over the place, forming before my eyes many different landscapes.
Arriving at another end of the route I came across another sign that spoke of the history of the town and that the human presence in this area dates back to prehistoric times. Proof of this is the Bronze Age archaeological site and also towns on the Tortuga hill and Roman settlements which are protected as archaeological assets. But it also tells of history closer to home such as the 19th century and the economic expansion evidenced by the tile, brick and pottery industry.
I always love to find information on posters everywhere I go because it makes me learn a little more about every place in this city.
One of the things I liked most about this area, apart from the distant views of the lagoon, was the descending path with the pine trees on the sides. I didn't go down this time, but I circled the whole area and it is just wonderful, plus the sun lit up everything differently as I changed angles.
Each time I went further and further away, the lagoon and the pines were far away and a new path was waiting for me, one full of trees, shadows drawn on the grass.
Of course, I could never take my eyes off the lagoon, water will always be wonderful to me, however it manifests itself.
It has been a beautiful walk full of sunshine and life, thank you very much for joining me on this Wednesday walk. I send you a big greeting, see you soon.
Amonet.
