Night walks have something special about them, mixing mystery, magic and a kind of beauty that is not present during the day, amidst the silence of the moon and the breeze of the twilight.
At night, certain places change colour, especially because of the lights of the lamps that illuminate the city and turn the intense and varied greens into browns, oranges and in certain areas a deep dark colour.
On the other hand, the walks when there is a full moon provide that natural light that only it can give, illuminating certain spaces and corners, giving an air of expectancy and at the same time peace.
In addition, the city seen at night changes a lot in its landscapes, it seems as if it were another or rather the city is dressed in different lights while people sleep or at least most of them. On this walk there were also other people strolling around, mostly tourists. I always say that this is the city that receives tourists all year round, be it summer, festivals, events, tours or cruises are arriving all the time.
I am passionate about castles, especially the oldest ones, and also the fortresses, I think they have that unparalleled magic, that history that speaks in every corner, in every rock, in every part of the buildings, the towers, the windows, every internal and external path.
The fortresses have a lot of history to tell and I believe that it lives in their walls as if they were impregnated with that essence, they served to defend the city against occupations and invasions. Today the city walls are no longer there, but the high walls of these castles that rest from the battle, but have a lot to tell.
I am convinced that the energy of history and the different events is tied to the places where they were present. I like to walk through these places, I love to do it because they bring me many emotions, different sensations, as if each stone of these walls spoke to me a language that only the energies understand.
Why I tell you this is because this is what happens to me while I walk in places like this and especially at night, because it is in the silence of the night when you feel these things the most, as if they come alive in those moments when the city sleeps.
This trail goes along the walls and towers of the Alcazaba castle and further up along more paths it reaches the second castle or rather fortress. A path that I hope to walk soon in the evening.
Looking at the city among the vegetation, trees, pines, bushes is a delight, lights here and there as if the city is afraid at night and needs the lights on or maybe it is that these energies wake up with these lights. I don't know, but it looks so beautiful that it's hard not to fall in love with the enchanting views at those heights.
The landscape is perfect, there was a light breeze that night with a full moon and the towers accompanied me on my walk, the towers of the guardian of the city, that guardian that has countless distant stories and keeps so many experiences.
I was walking and thinking, how many steps have crossed this path, so many that it would be impossible to count them, ancient steps, modern steps, how many battles must have been fought in this place, both real battles to defend the city and battles of thought. It is an ideal place to walk and meanwhile meditate, think, resolve and fill the heart through the eyes, with immense beauties.
At the end of my walk several cats came out to meet me, cats are that link between this reality and those energies I am talking about, and much more during the night, that's why I love them. Along with the towers they are also guardians and I love to walk among them and with them.
Thank you for accompanying me on this enigmatic walk, as beautiful and mysterious as life itself. I send you all a big hello. See you soon.
