A walk to “The rock", Catalonia, Spain

Hello my dear friends of Hive and Wednesday Walk, today I bring you a hike that I did a few days ago in the surroundings of the volunteering where I was staying.

My companions were talking about a rock with a particular kind of energy, and I had no idea where it was. Although I took several walks in the area, I was avoiding getting into the narrow paths that went into a kind of forest (it was not a forest, but it was an environment with lots of vegetation.

However, the day before I left the refuge, about 5 days ago, I decided that I would try to get to this rock that had become famous in the refuge, as a companion told me: you can't possibly not know it.

The truth is that I love the surprises of nature and since I was there, how not to live the adventure.

Una caminata hacia “La piedra”, Catalunya, España

Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive y de Wednesday Walk, hoy les acerco una caminata que realicé hace unos días en los alrededores del voluntariado en el que me estaba quedando.

Mis compañeros hablaban de una roca con una especie de energía particular, y yo no tenía idea de dónde estaba. Aunque dí varias caminatas por la zona, estaba evitando meterme por los caminos estrechos que se adentraban en una suerte de bosque (no llegaba a ser un bosque, pero sí era un entorno con mucha vegetación.

Sin embargo, el día antes de dejar el refugio, hace unos 5 días atrás, decidí que intentaría llegar a esta piedra que se había hecho famosa en el refugio, pues un compañero me dijo: no es posible que no la conozcas.

La verdad es que amo las sorpresas de la naturaleza y ya que estaba allí, cómo no vivir la aventura.

My companions were covering and I didn't have too much time, as it was 15:00 and by 16:30 it was starting to get dark, so I ventured out to follow the directions to try to get to this place.

Indeed, the path, very narrow but to my luck very demarcated, led directly to a rock that seemed to be emerging from the earth.

It was a whole surface where you could even walk and that offered a panoramic view of the plain of that Catalan countryside.

The rock is so old that even fossil remains could be seen in it. This was told to me by my companions. I tried to find them but I could not and I did not want it to get dark. However, you could see on its surface, different materials and small organisms of the plant and animal kingdom that made that space, an extremely particular environment.

Mis compañeros cubrían y yo no tenía demasiado tiempo, pues eran las 15:00 y a las 16:30 empezaba a oscurecer, así que me aventuré a seguir las indicaciones para intentar llegar a este lugar.

Efectivamente, el camino, muy estrecho pero para mi suerte muy demarcado, conducía directamente a una roca que parecía estar emergiendo de la tierra.

Se trataba de toda una superficie por donde incluso se podía caminar y que brindaba una vista panorámica del llano de aquel campo catalán.

La roca es tan antigua que incluso se podían observar en ella restos fósiles. Esto me lo contaron mis compañeros. Intenté encontrar pero no pude y no quería que oscureciera. Sin embargo, se podían ver en su superficie, diferentes materiales y pequeños organismos del reino vegetal y animal que hacían de aquel espacio, un entorno en extremo particular.

The rock was surrounded by that lush mountain accompanied by trees of yesteryear that anticipated the winter.

On one side there was an apacheta, this pile of stones that is usually made on the roads to recover energy and strength. It is also a symbol of balance.

This gave this space a certain mystical touch, as if it were a place of meditation and peace.

I took advantage of my moment there to take some macro photos of what the rock had to offer, because if you decided to look carefully for a moment, you would start to find interesting details worthy of starting a small investigation to find out how far back that rock dates and the different forms of life that have developed on it.

La roca estaba rodeada de aquella montaña frondosa acompañada de árboles de antaño que anticipaban el invierno.

A un costado había una apacheta, esta pila de piedras que se suele hacer en los caminos para recuperar la energía y la fuerza. También se trata de un símbolo de equilibrio.

Esto le daba a este espacio cierto toque místico, como si se tratase de un lugar de meditación y paz.

Aproveché mi momento allí para tomar algunas fotos macro de lo que la roca ofrecía, pues si por un instante decidías contemplar con atención, se empezaban a encontrar interesantes detalles dignos de iniciar una pequeña investigación para saber de qué fecha data aquella roca y las diferentes formas de vida que se han desarrollado en ella.

I also took the opportunity to take some pictures of the flora of the place, as it was very interesting, especially the mistletoe, which spread all around the photographed spot.

The landscape in front of me was also beautiful, so I sat down for a moment to contemplate it, to breathe it in and to give thanks for the courage that leads me to live the way I want to live.

After a moment of reflection and gratitude, and added to the time spent capturing photos, I decided to return to the refuge, before dusk gave way to night.

The hike took me about 70 minutes in total. The refuge was about 20-25 minutes from the rock, and added to the time for photos and so on, that's how long it took me.

Aproveché también para hacer unas capturas de la flora del lugar, pues era bien interesante, en especial el muérdago, que se extendía por todo el contorno del punto fotografiado.

El paisaje que se extendía frente a mi vista también era hermoso, por lo que me senté un momento a contemplarlo, a respirarlo y a agradecer por el valor que me conduce a vivir de la manera que deseo.

Pasado un momento de reflexión y agradecimiento, y sumado al tiempo de captura de fotos, decidí regresar al refugio, antes de que el atardecer diera paso a la noche.

La caminata me tomó alrededor de 70 minutos en total. El refugio se encontraba a unos 20-25 minutos de la roca, y sumado al tiempo de fotos y demás, eso es lo que demoré.
