Two weeks ago when we had to move out of our Apartment in Gardens, Cape Town, we moved to Muizenberg for only one week. Due to the easter weekend and the fact we did not book long enough upfront we had to move out of the apartement for one week and decided to check out Muizenberg in the meantime.
While I did not like the town itself that much there is some cool environment like the huts at ST James Beach or the Kalk Bay Harbour for example, that are inviting for a little walk. Don´t forget your camera.
These are the colourful huts at St James Beach, a small beach with rock pool at the main road that is leading to the harbour. These huts remind me at the ones in Melbourne. What a great atmosphere with the mountains in the back.
From here we went a bit further to the Kalk Bay Harbour. We arrive there just in time when all the fisher boats came back in which in turn attract the seals.
Although it looks like nice weather on the photos there was a pretty cold wind and the sea was rough that late afternoon. When the fisher boats come back into the harbour and start to unload their catch it attracts the seals that are pretty common in that area.
You really have to be careful if you stand to close to the waterfront as they jump out of the water.
Thats my favourite photo of the day
The seals are waiting to get their share of the catch while the fisherman separating it. I always thought seals are not really a danger for me but if one of these huge animals comes closer to you, you quickly change your mind.
That harbour also is a perfect spot for beautiful sunset photos. Absolutely loved to stroll around that nice little harbour before our dinner.
you will find that post on pinmapple as well
