Good evening and happy hump day, y'all amazing people!
I wanted to share a recent family walk about a family dinner that left us with some wonderful memories. Just a few weeks ago, my husband was here for a short vacation. On his last day before his flight back to the US, we decided to go out for dinner. I suggested we try out this newly opened Ilokano restaurant, Jardin de Cosina Iloko, which is just a short walk away from our house. I actually discovered this place when I was out running errands not so long ago. It had recently opened for the public, and from the outside, it looked absolutely gorgeous. The pretty landscape, fountains, and twinkling fairy lights caught my eye, and I knew we had to give it a go.
So, off we went, taking a leisurely stroll down Diversion Road, Urbiztondo, here in San Juan, La Union. As we arrived around 7 p.m., the beauty of the place was even more enchanting under the glow of the evening lights. It was a perfect Instagrammable view. The restaurant has these lovely wooden tables and chairs, and they've decorated the place with famous Ilokano furniture and displays like dried flowers, baskets, brooms, and many more. The relaxing background music added to the great ambiance.
So we got there in about 5 minutes of walking from the house. And while we were waiting for our food, I couldn't resist taking a few photos of course. The place was just too charming! For dinner, we decided on garlic parmesan chicken, pigar-pigar (stir-fried beef with veggies), a refreshing cucumber-carrot salad, and a fruit salad for dessert. Oh, and we also ordered a pitcher of iced tea to quench our thirst. The food was delicious, though a bit pricier than at other restaurants we've been to. But the whole experience was worth it. After we finished our meal, we spent a little more time taking photos outdoors. The place was just too pretty to leave without a few more snaps!
After saying our goodbyes to the wonderful staff, we took a leisurely walk back home. The whole evening was a perfect blend of good food, great ambiance, and priceless family time. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes next time.
If you're ever in the area, do check out Jardin de Cosina Iloko. You won't be disappointed. Until our next walk, my friends!
