Let's go take a walk to the evergreens.!
I'd say I'm one of the luckiest to have this wide and open grassland just a hundred steps away from home, that I can hike to destress and enjoy the breathtaking and revitalizing sceneries it gives every time I want to.
This morning I was happy for myself to finally hike and take a stroll with nature again. I don't know if have I been very busy lately or if was I just too lazy to not be able to spend 15-20 minutes hiking anymore. A walk into nature is my therapy every time I get stressed and has filed off my "to-do-list" at work so imagine how happy and rejuvenated I was to finally have a hike - a stroll into the wilderness.
Nature walks are a great way to soothe our minds. So I'm sharing my beautiful walk with you today with the hope that this will somehow soothe your mind too.π€
The stroll.
A tall knee-height grass embraced my legs as I walk through the Cogon Grass (Sword Grass). I could feel the morning dew and droplets of water on the leaves as it rained last night. What a good welcome from nature as I started my stroll.
The soil is a little wet so my shoes started to get some dirt on every step I took. It started to get heavier but I made sure to rub it on the grasses from time to time to clean the dirt.
After a few steps walking on the tall grasses and I already met this farm of peanuts. The peanuts are still young, maybe they can be harvested 2 months from now.
The next view that I saw is the scenery down below, a very countryside fence. I found the place simply beautiful and refreshing. How about you?
Few steps from here and we will see the open wilderness.
Below is the east side part of the grasslands, and the mountains of the town as the background. I always love this part of the scenery as this reminds me of my love for the mountains. Since its early in the morning, I was able to catch some view of the fog.
The metal tube by the way is the tube that carries the water supply of the town.
I'm trying to get the whole view from afar. but I think I didn't give justice to the landscape's beauty. Huhu.
Strolling around I realized how blessed I am to have this place with so much tranquility. Walking in this grassland made me appreciate more the subtle gifts that nature can offer while I am getting some exercise.
As I continued my hike I met this old mushroom on the grass. Why old? I just thought it was old because of its brown color and wrinkles. Hehe. Whatever it is, the mushroom looks beautiful among the grasses!
Look! There are many of them! These tiny living things look like dwarves playing under the mighty sky.
Let's take a stop first, enjoy the view and listen to the quietness of nature and feel the therapeutic power of having a short walk in nature.π
We are now on the west part of the grassland where we could see the tall and majestic coconuts beside the hill. When I was in high school, there was a small Nipa hut in this area, but because of the weather and time, the Nipa hut fell apart.
I took the photo above just before the sun shines! Isn't it so refreshing to look at?
I was mid halfway through my lapse in the grasslands, and the fog was still there. As I strolled around, I was also lingering on the beauty of nature.
I also saw some animals pastured in the grasslands. I think the carabaos are always having their best meals in this abundant grassland.
I saw this wild grass, the Makahiya or the "Touch Me Not"Grass, that closes its leaves once touched. I picked one and tried my photography skills in capturing its beauty.
One more look at this wonderful landscape which inspires, and made me reflect, and heal. Truly, being in nature has a powerful positive effect on the mind, body, and spirit.
The Mango farm is the exit in the grassland. I strolled the Mango Farm for a while and saw a cow there too.
I felt how my mood lightens up and my body and mind revitalized because of the great view of the countryside. Oh, how I want to spend more time strolling but I couldn't coz I still need to prepare my work. I shall come back to the grassland oftentimes for sure!
What a great way to start an awesome day!
Thanks for reading guys! Hope you enjoyed the stroll!
