Last time, when I embarked on a hike going to the beautiful peak of Mt. Campitlok , I also had a chance to not only enjoy its spectacular view from up above but also I was able to immerse myself in the countryside's simplicity as I wander on its mountain foot.
I am a certified countryside girl, yet I am always astounded by how one corner of the same countryside stands out uniquely from the other. And I am always thankful and humbled by these kinds of experiences to marvel and engage myself for the time being in this beautiful part of the countryside just like what happened when I walk along the base of Mt. Campitlok.
Look it's Campitlok!
If you ask locals of this place about "How to reach Campitlok?", they will definitely say "Through the Hacienda". So I was imagining a picturesque view of an endless field of sugarcanes (because that is what Hacienda is in our countryside) and if lucky enough I'd be able to witness the abundance of its white blooms dancing on the wind's breeze. But I was surprised by the scenic view that Campitlok slowly unveiled in front of my eyes as I approached this remote village on the mountain's feet.
Majestic Green Trees.
The stunning sight of the towering green trees was what welcomed us on our hike. These magnificent trees standing with grandeurs look like a big gateway - an entrance to something magical welcoming us with its "Come and be mesmerized" spell. So, who wouldn't be excited?
And so we begin our walk beneath these verdant giants, the strong and sturdy Mahogany trees which I observed planted there on purpose as they are situated alongside the small stream.
Palmy country road
Another beautiful view that we passed by during our walk are the tall coconut trees that lined the country roadsides. Its slender trunks and the green graceful frond added a picturesque view of this part of the road.
As I was walking in this beautiful view, I felt the vibe of tropical paradise. If I have this on my way every morning, I'll surely not get tired of walking every day! It was a very simple landscape yet it was so pleasing and refreshing.
Another wonderful sight of this part of the road are the goats leisurely eating grass!
Goats, cows, and barns!
When we arrived at the foot of the mountain, I discovered and learned the kind of livelihood they do in this quiet village. There are not so many houses on the base of the mountain but its number is more than enough to form a community. It is not a surprise to see houses made of entirely wood as this is common in the countryside however what's surprising is the presence of the barns in each house.
I see simple open barns occupied by farm animals such as cows and goats. Most of the barns are made of wood, some are very open and are only made of those slim pillars and a roof, while other barns are built connected or attached to the trunks of the trees and have no roof at all!
Each barn is filled with animals making themselves comfortable and secure. The animals come in different colors and sizes too. It was evident that these animals were greatly taken care of and fed by their owners. And though some barns get dirty and messy, their presence added to the rustic view of the countryside. The beauty of these and the animals on them made me appreciate the innocence, the naturalness, and the simplicity of the countryside. It is captivating!
While other animals are kept in the barn, some are pastured on the grasslands but have a tie on their neck so that they can't go away.
Beautiful flowers
Of course, this countryside is not only "Pure green" to the eyes, because it also has radiant flowers blooming randomly on the road. The bright colors of these flowers were what painted this foot of the mountain vibrant in colorful hues.
They are the beautiful flowers of Gumamela, the flower of the cactus plant, and other colorful flowers of which I don't know the names. But one thing is for sure they are lovely!
I was mesmerized by the beauty and simplicity of this place, how much more if I get to the top!
We were only a few steps from the start of the climb but the greenery of this foot of the mountain seemed to want me to stay and enjoy its lush vegetation to the fullest!
That's it for my refreshing and captivating walk along the foot of Mt. Campitlok. I hope you enjoyed reading it. I wish you all safe and well always.π
