My son and I woke up late because he also went to bed late last night, around 12 am, I think. He's so hyper that I have a hard time getting him to sleep. I actually planned that the next morning, Wednesday, he would get his anti-polio, and measles injections for his 9th month. I didn't immuninize him when he was 9 monts old beacuse, besides moving from mandaluyong to Pasig, his sleep habits also changed for two months. He wakes up at night and sleeps in the morning, so even his father and I sleep like that; we barely have any work to do, lol.
Okay let's get back to our immunization.
It's a good thing our house is near to the center. Just a 3-minute walk from our house to the center. When I arrived, they asked me to write my name on a piece of paper and interviewed because we were new here and my son didn't have a record yet, they asked me a lot of questions about my son.
After thet interviewed me, I put my son on the scale to find out his weight and also measured his height. This is where I realized how difficult it is to go immunize the baby alone because, besides my son noisy, it is also difficult to write and carry him, especially since he doesn't want us to stay in one place. I'm just lucky that when we were in the province, my sister and sometimes my brother accompanied me everytime I immunize him because my husband is in Manila that time. And today he couldn't come with me because he sells chicken which is I understand.
After he was weighed and his height was measured, we sat down to wait to be called to give him injection; he was making a lot of noise there. Maybe beacuse he was new to the center, or else he knew he was going to vaccinate that time. Because at night and when we awake in the morning, I explained to him how we needed to vaccinated him. And it was okay for him to cry, but only for a moment because he was brave. But it was opposite of what his dad said; if someone fought with him at the center, he would punch. Haha he joke only.
When we were next, we sat on the chair, and the nurse talked to my son first, and give him a lion tickets in his hand. The nurse who injected my son was very nice and pretty he ask the name of my baby and I answer too and said " you are just taking my heart and then you will hurt me too" my son was very innocent, just smiled. I feel sad, of course and am nervous for my son because one of his arms and one of his legs will be injected. While talking to him and entertaining the nurse companion, he was injected, and suddenly he started crying and crying , and I felt so sorry for my son because I could do nothing but let him be like that, and all I could do was carry him and breastfeed him so that he would calm down and stop crying. (´;︵;`)
They gave my son vitamins and a box of sachets to put in his food now that he can eat solids at 11 months old. They told me to mix the sachet with the food and that it shouldn't be hot.
After my son calmed down, they directed us to an office where a doctor administered oral flouride. She told me that it was to strengthen the childrens teeth. So that even if they were unable to brush their teeth, they would not be damaged. It was expensive in other private hospitals, but free at the center. So we took the opportunity to put on the babys teeth every months.
When he was inserting the flouride to my son's teeth, he cried again, possibly because he disliked the taste of flouride or he didn't want anyone else to touch him.
Another center employee came up to me after we left that office and conducted an interview with me about family planning and other topics, so I had to fill out another form and respond to more questions, haha. My child was crying uncontrollably, possibly out of fear that he would be harmed again. I quickly filled out the paperwork and let us go.
He was still crying while we were walking to his dad: when we got there, his dad was doing everything he could to calm him down because no matter what I said to him, he couldn't stop crying. You can see in the picture that his face was really red from crying.
When we got home, I quickly applied cold cotton to his arms and legs. Even though he was crying, I had to do it, and I also used after shots after I put cold cotton to his legs and arms. This is one of the things I used when I immunise him; since I started using it, his legs haven't swelled or hurt. Then we ate and he fall asleep.
One of the reasons I didn't post this yesterday was that I wanted to see what happened to him at night after he was immunized during the day. But I'm so thankful and grateful because she he woke up, I checked to see if his arms and legs hurt, but he didn't, and he was still very happy and naughty, walking quickly and play in the play pen. Until night, and he didn't have a fever. Which made me very happy.
This is what happened my Wednesday, Thanks for this community I can share what happen yesterday. And also, Thankyou to all who support me here and read my blogs.
