I just received a message from my aunt requesting the photos I had taken during our early stroll to one of the beaches in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
Let me share my memorable walk with the thunders~
Thunders is the term I use to refer to my older relatives such as aunties, uncles, and grandparents.
Here in the Philippines, we use the word matanda to refer to older people. My relatives don't want to be called matanda so I use thunder instead. When you remove the prefix ma-, they still sound the same.
The thunders (consisting of my aunts, uncle, and grandparents) were excited to see the black sand beach nearby. It was just a minute's walk from my aunt's house, and they begged for someone to come with them. When they said someone, they meant me.
We made the decision to go for a stroll right after breakfast.
So that I could get some good pictures of myself, too, I invited my younger sister to join along. I hardly recognize myself from the last time I requested my grandmother to take a picture of me!
Thunders~
I don't know about you but I have this thing with thunders. I wouldn't feel bored or even irritated spending the entire day with them. Their tales are really fascinating to listen to.
Aside from the fact that they can talk to me without getting frustrated and furious, they like the company of someone who loves to take pictures. These thunders love posting their travel pictures on Facebook!
There were numerous dogs running about as we got to the end of the street. I admit that I always get scared when I see stray dogs.
The life tip my friend gave me years ago is something I will never forget. She advised me to bite my tongue to prevent getting bit by a stray dog. Lol. There is no justification for how or why it is a life hack, yet I continue to use it. Perhaps I still believe that somehow, biting my tongue would save me from rabies!
Everything was unfamiliar because it was my first time visiting my aunt in Cagayan. All I know is that my uncle instructed us to proceed straight ahead and follow the signs to reach the black sand beach.
We did follow my uncle's advice. On our way, we saw the Nassim Hotel and Beach Resort.
We stopped by in front of the Nassim Hotel because the thunders wanted to take a picture... more likely to have a photoshoot.
They took out their phones and started taking pictures. One after another, they asked me if their poses were nice. On that sort of stuff, they do trust me.
We immediately headed to the beach after the photo session in front of the Nassim Hotel. The sand lives up to its name by being both pristine and dark. Boats and nets were all over the place. My aunt owns some in this area, primarily for fishing.
The thunders, as usual, were having their photoshoot. It's as if I told them to group themselves into two so they could take turns in taking photos.
I looked around the area to see where I could place my tripod for the photo session with the thunders. I want them to have their pictures taken near the beach.
I did a test shot to see whether it would work against the light while assembling my tripod. Unexpectedly, we're not the only ones taking pleasure in the beach walk. The dog is walking along, content in its own company.
I took another test shot to capture the peaceful waves. I was about to take another one when one of my aunts requested a jump shot.
The other thunders couldn't contain their excitement when they heard about it. They were handing me their phones as if I have eight or more hands to navigate them all.
As I captured their not-so-high jump shot, they were all giggling. I purposely blurred the images to ensure their privacy.
Our morning stroll and photo session went well, and we were all pleased. They had already requested me to accompany them next time!
That's it for my #WednesdayWalk, an initiative of .
