Hi!
I hope you guys have a nice Wednesday. Here is something for you guys.
As I was scrolling through my phone with my old photos, I saw these photos from our out-of-town trip on Christmas Eve, 2024. During our walk by the shore, I was trying to take shots of my son with my in-laws. Back then, I never appreciated these photos. I think it was too pixelated and there's too much silhouette, it didn't come to mind that the sunset was a better subject for these photos. I am not a skilled photographer, but if only I were and if I had better equipment. Man, oh man.
I've always been fascinated with sunsets, it gives hope that the day ends with God's mercy and constant presence. Sunsets are a promise of God that a new day will come again to reign and control over the natural world.
To appreciate more of sunsets, here is a poem by Emily Dickinson, 1890.
THE SEA OF SUNSET.
This is the land the sunset washes,
These are the banks of the Yellow Sea;
Where it rose, or whither it rushes,
These are the western mystery!
--
Night after night her purple traffic
Strews the landing with opal bales;
Merchantmen poise upon horizons,
Dip, and vanish with fairy sails.
-Emily Dickinson
