Hello everyone, how are you today?
It's Wednesday again. Let's go out and explore things. As usual, today I go around and discover interesting things. Since joining the Wednesday Walk community, I've discovered there's a lot going on around me. I have my own world and there are many other people's worlds out there. Only by going outside can I enter other people's world and discover interesting things. And today I will walk you around to discover Vietnam's first elevated railway.
The first elevated railway in Vietnam is located in Hanoi. It belongs to the railway network system of Hanoi capital. It started construction in October 2011. It currently has a total length of 13.05 km with 12 elevated stations, going from Cat Linh station in Dong Da district and ending at Yen Nghia station in Ha Dong district. . It plays an important role in solving serious traffic jams in Hanoi and saving commuters' travel time. If you have ever been to Hanoi, then you will understand its importance. And I think for travelers, this railway also saves them from the dangers of crazy traffic in Vietnam. I have to admit that even though I'm a Vietnamese. 😁
It officially opened on November 6, 2021. And it was my first time to try this train and explore inside its stations. My first impression was how modern it was with its automated systems which baffled me the first time I tried it. First, from the ground, I got to the station upstairs by escalator. You can also reach the stations by stairs that connect to the streets below. Then I bought a ticket at the vending machine. Simply select the destination and pay the corresponding fare, however I was a bit confused as I didn't bring any change. But I finally managed to buy a ticket and get my change back. These tickets are used to pass through the automatic ticket gates to enter the platform. There are automatic notification systems that let commuters know when the train is coming, when to board, when to get off the train and safety reminders during travel. I think this is a very optimal train with a very high rate of automation and the fare is also quite cheap, only about $0.50 per ticket. And another thing I really like about this train is the speed. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from one station to the next with a distance that usually takes you 10 to 20 minutes depending on the time.
Okay, now walk with me to find out what's in the stations here. All the stations here have the same structural design, so you will feel very familiar at all stations. The only difference that tells you which station you are at is the color of the wall tiles. Each station has a different color of wall tiles which creates its uniform beauty. I love these tones because they are bright colors that give a feeling of excitement and dynamism. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this discovery walk today, and I hope you are too. I look forward to your walk. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a great day!
