Hi Hivers,
Today I will take you guys on a walk with me to explore the mural road of Tong Ju village in Ea Kao commune, Dak Lak province, my hometown. As you may know, I am living and working in another province, today I have the opportunity to bring my friends back to my hometown to visit. And the mural road at Tong Ju village is one of the destinations I want to recommend to my friends because of its speciality. Tong Ju is a village of the Ede ethnic people, the most common ethnic group in my hometown. Whenever mentioning Dak Lak, people immediately remember the images of the Ede ethnic people.
The life of the villagers in Tong Ju village still goes on peacefully and idly every day. They don't seem to care much about the busy world outside, but they just live their happy lives.
Agricultural vehicles are the main means of transportation for local people and also one of their typical images.
Small wooden houses are also typical images of Tong Ju village. Although living in small houses, the villagers still lead a happy life.
Brocade weaving is one of their main occupations. They make their own traditional costumes.
As you may know, Vietnam is the second coffee exporter in the world and Dak Lak is the capital of Vietnamese coffee. So it is not surprising that the main income of the people of Tong Ju comes from growing coffee.
They also raise cattle and poultry to increase their income. In general, they lead a very peaceful life associated with agriculture.
When I walked around Tong Ju village, I had a feeling of peace. People here live in harmony with nature, so you will see a lot of green areas and trees around the village. The people here are also very fond of flowers, so you can see a lot of different flowers around the village.
And the main thing I want to introduce to you today is the mural road in Tong Ju village. This is a great project of Central Highlands cultural researcher Linh Nga Nie Kdam. It shows the life of the Ede people vividly through the murals. Just by walking around and looking at these murals, visitors can better understand the people, culture and life of the Ede people.
