A surprising and inspiring walk... wanted but unexpected.
I wanted to walk, explore and discover. To see beyond, to enjoy new views and new panoramas. And here I am now, in a new place, and so much to see and do.
So with so much curiosity but little time, he had been postponing that first walk last week, one day and another, until the end. To the end of the beach promenade and beyond. But in the end I did it, almost without giving it much thought, simply going out quietly one afternoon hoping that the gentle breeze from the sea would at least alleviate somewhat the strong heat of the day, and when the light begins to change, to be dimmer and perhaps also more cozy.
Starting to walk like this, a pleasant walk awaited me, I was convinced of it. And easily reach the end of the promenade, the beach promenade, where everyone goes, adults sitting and talking and children playing in the sand or on the slides and other contraptions placed there, while their parents and other people watch from the terrace of one of the open places where you can have something cool, and the other passers-by also stayed. It's the magic hour.
And that ending seemed magical to me, where the decorated floor tiles end and here where the beach ends, suddenly with lots of green and palm trees, a new environment where you want to sit down for a picnic or meet up with a group of friends, like those who there was… And in that ending the end of a river also appears, meeting the Mediterranean Sea. I go to the end, near the shore, some stones and a solitary tree. We have to turn around, but we're not going back.
We found the path, the bridge that leads us to a new path, wide and spacious for everyone, and that takes us out of the town, only for pedestrians without cars, on the edge of the stones and the breadth of this wonderful sea . Can you ask for more?
A pleasant path, on one side the immensity of the blue sea and on the other, the green of the natural meadow, small animals can be heard and the sunlight goes down as we pass. Surrounded by nature, we move on.
We arrived at a small beach town (Canet d'En Berenguer) that I still remembered, it was where I used to go to the beach as a child, it had been many, many years since I had returned, but when I looked, I remembered that pergola that still remains, where I wiped the sand off my feet. And the promenade begins again.
An area with more life than expected, in addition to the yacht club that I also remembered at that time, many stalls where they sold countless things, some new, curious and surprising. Then other places to eat and drink, with garlands and colored lights, I think it would be a great place for a relaxed summer dinner.
And many flowers again, a part flanked by large bushes of pink and white oleanders, and even discover below also beautiful lilies already about to perish...
Now yes, we have to go back, even knowing that there is more to come, other things to see on the next wonderful walk, leave something behind, to keep the desire going. And on the way back, more details, that corner of the beach, of the canine beach, where the dogs also cool off, and relax, happily with each other, while the rest of us pass by and stroll.
From that path open to the sea, we now enjoy an unforgettable panorama, the best views, the entire sea in front of us, just one step away. And at that moment, we realize that we are very lucky. It is not a vacation stamp, it is the vision of my new city. Now here is my house.
And the sunset embraces me, inspires me and relaxes me. It makes me feel good, happy and grateful. The sunlight on the other hand blends perfectly with such a beautiful image. In some moments of life it seems that we can have everything, it is a fleeting sensation but it is felt intensely.
I knew that there was a long way to go, I know that I still have a long way to go, but these first steps, this wonderful walk, has been more than I expected, a magical natural environment on our doorstep, as they say, a beautiful surprise, and a gift that life sometimes gives us without asking for anything in return.
Thanks for reading! Have an inspiring day.
