The weather forecasters said it was going to be lovely and sunny today. Well they got that wrong! It was quite dull and chilly as I visited Codnor Park today for my #wednesdaywalk initiated by .

The bridge to nowhere! Under the bridge has all been filled in. People still choose to walk over it. I still think it looks nice and I'm glad they have preserved it.

Before I walked around the reservoir, I had a short walk straight down the canal. This part of the canal is now defunct. The water is very shallow and full of weed but it's still a popular walking route.

When I reached the road, I decided to turn around and make my way back to the reservoir.

On my return journey, I passed an old building that turned out to be part of Codnor Park Pottery that started around 1820. I used to go bottle digging and have found a few old bottles from here. Sadly, it's all boarded up now.

Back at the reservoir, there was a swan already sat on her nest. A barrier was around it to deter people getting too close.

There was a poster telling people not to put food down as it encourages rats, who in turn eat the bird's eggs.

This part of the walk was quite muddy. I nearly fell on my backside several times.

Back over the bridge I made my way back to the car. Still no sign of the promised sunshine ....
